Larger Endzones

Post by Relborn »

Anyone thought of larger endzones as an idea when a new BB-Version
comes out ? (Like the one from the second edition)

I think it would be cool to defend your endzone on th goalline or have a receiver waiting in the endzone. Right now with the endzone being only one sqaure broad the risk of being pushed of board makes such tactics useless.

What do you think of this idea ?

1 square mean you cant leave someone in the end-zone waiting for a catch the next turn as he'll almost certainly be pushed into the crowd.

Although i would welcome a new boards, may be different width and length as well, to add a bit of variety.

_if_ adding a second row to the enzone meant adding two rows to the playing field, not shoertening the field to increase ez's, it might make for some interesting strategy... like decoy receivers downfield to pull defenders off the line, etc... but like i said, i'd be cautious of shortening the field...

A new board size would just mean more expence for everyone. While this idea probably appeals to GW the poor people amongst us may think this level of radical change to the system may be a little much.
I, however, was not playing around the time of the 2ed/3ed board change and so don't know how much that effected the game.

P.S These smilies are great

I don't think GW think that the market would be viable enough to do it anyway, but if they did. I'd just have to go without food for a few days to get it :D

yeah, i think this "proposal" is not so much a speculation on a potential product so much as an option for the more industrious among us who like to make our own boards... lets be honest, gw couldn't make money selling alternate boards, it's probably a loss for them to make the single existing board...

Endzones

Lucien: True hit *S*. As I have made some Bloodbowl-fields (some with surrounding arena, others without) it wouldn't be much of of problem for myself.

Of course I meant not, that the field should be shortened by the additional square on both endzones. In effect with my idea the total playing field would be extended by two squares.

I am not thinking of expenses but only on the new strategies you could try with such a new field. This way the endzones would have much more importance and posibilities to fight for.
