How are the rules for Blood Bowl hockey

Post by thecheat231 »

I was recently checking these out, in light of the fact of the lock out me and a freind were going to start playing, we played a few games and it seems fun, anyone else play this game variant, was there anything you changed for simplicity or funness?

Imagine flying into someone else's country and killing it's leader with a cane. And then taking all thier money. Well he's Scrouge McDuck and I guess he can do whatever the flip he wants.

My league has played a couple games of Cross Check...very fun!

One thing we are gonna house-rule, though, is having the nets out on the ice as it is in real hockey, rather than embedded in the end boards, then allowing for rebounds off the goalposts (as in Blood Bowl Soccer). Also, if there is enough interest I may start a CC tournament or league here, to complement the BB league here.

I found a couple good sources for "ice surfaces." If you go to any good stationery store (Staples, Office Depot, etc for North Americans; I don't know where European players would go), they should have foamboard in various colours. A 20 inch by 30 inch sheet is a good size, about 3/8 inch thick usually, and can be had for about $5 to $8 Canadian. As I said, you can get various colours, including white (probably most recognized hockey surface colour), silver (if you want to duplicate natural ice), or even black (if you have a dark elf team that likes to play on "black ice").

As for figs, well, I guess just using standard BB figs would do...I kinda wish someone would come out with miniatures carrying hockey sticks! :D As it is, you'd probably have to colour the fig bases for each position. Oh well.

For those who are wondering where the rules can be found, look no further than...

Special thanx to JK Lewis for creating these rules. Well done, eh?

(Although I do think references to "Morsel Beer" should be changed to "Moleskin Beer" or even "Moleskin Canuckian"... ...or "Labarf Blew"...)

Well if I could sculp figures I'd make them, but I can't even draw a straight line with a lat.
