Crowd casualties

Post by Mestari »

Dakkakhan wrote in a thread in the General Chat Forum:
Trust me, I want more blood, not less. I still roll a D6 for each of my players on the field during a Pitch Invasion to determine how many fans each player kills!

This gave me an idea: as in the fluff crowd casualties are something that happens quite often, why not do the following:

-Every time a player is pushed to the crowd, roll for crowd casualties.
-For every pitch invasion, roll for crowd casualties for every player.

Crowd casualty roll is
d6 - 3
Modifiers:
+ST
+1 if block/MB/RSC/Claw/other suitable skill (cumulative)

The crowd casualties give nothing but bragging rights - you could determine the "Most Crowd Casualties In a Single Game"-awards etc.

As I like increasing the roleplaying aspect of the game, this would be a nice addition. Players don't have to earn anything from this.

You should get negative modifiers to your FF roll if your fans get killed (i.e. you won the pitch invasion) and positive ones if you lost.

That all depends on who's fans you kill. You would have to presume that on a field envasion that you would be attacked by the oppositions fans, so maybe winning a pitch invasion will result in the other teams FF to go down by one. :)

Nah, there's no point to have any effect on FF - there should be enough of fans around so a few casualties wouldn't effect that.
All in all, I want nothing else than, or rather I want this to be only, a fluff addition. A nice thing to keep track of. To add more humour to the game and to give some justification for the did you knows.

ljm: do you have it? Our local store hadn't received it yet when I asked... but they're supposed to receive about three copies. The fools have sent a few copies to Finland before the rest were sold out so I just might have a chance of getting the magazine...

Yes, I got my copy yesterday in the mail. The rules for Fan and Referee Fatalities are quite simple, they have no relevance in the game itself - just extra fun for people who like to keep note of such things.

There are fluff rules for this in BB Mag 3. They came from Carl Brown of Pub League fame, I believe.

Yeah, bring back crowd fatalies (and Refs).

My (2nd ed) Skaven Blitzer had 350+ crowd kills and 8 Refs to his name.
