New Divisions of League.

Post by Khaine »

I am looking to the future with the restart of our league. Looking in this direction I feel that while the handicap table is good for certain tr strength spreads, I do believe that past 150ish the number of handicap rolls can become a bit clunky... to combat this I was wondering what people thought about this a a house rule.

Minor League 100-150 TR - Everyone has to start somewhere and this is where you start. Your team of stalwart rookies will bash it out against other rookie teams in hopes of being "Discovered" and moving to the majors..

Major League 150-Unlimited TR - Congrats, you have made it to the big time, and as such are entitled to all the bonuses and fun assosciated with a huge contract with a personalized stadium. Lucritive contracts will be coming your way for sponsorship, and your players may be approached for personal sponsorship deal.

Special rule: Sponsorship

For each 20 TR above 150 your team will have a chance to make an impression on a Blood Bowl Sponsor who wants to buy space in your stadium. Roll 3d6 and compare it to your current FF. If you can roll under your fan factor a major company will sponsor your stadium, and will add 10 to all gates for your stadium. However this sponsor will expect you to perform, and if you drop more then 2 ff in a season the sponsor will leave at the end of the season.

Special rule: Stadium

To take advantage of the sponsorship deal, you will have to have a custom stadium <Something as simple as card advertisement signs to put on the sidelines is enough>. This custom stadium does come with a price, and you must pay d6*10,000 in maitenence. However a custom stadium does allow you to aquire sponsors, and naturally adds 10,000 to your gate.

Special rule: Personal Sponsorship

Any player with 51+ spp can be offered a personalized sponsorship, which will add 1,000 gold to the treasury, to take into account the wages the team saves from having a player with such a lucritive contract. This is only observed as long as the player plays:

1> At least 8 turns out of the game, or
2> Makes at least 2 personal TD, or
3> Causes 2 Casualties

I think these rules allow teams to have fun at a higher level competing at their own pace, and still be able to develop into thos monster teams that we all hear about online. By keeping the 150+ teams in their own division it allows the rookie teams a chance to develop, and get some games under their belt. Of course I still realize that a tr 150 team against 1 250+ tr team is going to be a hard uphill battle, but it's better then a 250+ team against a 100 tr team. Let me know what you think. I'm sure someoen has something similar to this someplace.
