personally I really like the 3 new mixed race teams. I seriously hope that they will suppleant all those other rules for allies on the normal teams.
However,
there is one thing that I don't like about the new teams.
Do they really need to have 2-3 big guys?
That hardly seems balanced!
An example:
Comparing old worlder to chaos dwarfs (IMO, one of the better teams around):
Chaos Dwarf......Old Worlder
---------------------------
hobgoblins.......human linemen
6 chaos dwarfs...6 longbeards
1 minotaur.......1 ogre
2 Bull Centaurs..1 Treeman, 1 wardancer, 1 phoenix, 1 human catcher(?), 2 halflings.
Sure, it will take more than a little time to accumulate, but this just seems too damn good.
So here is a suggestion:
If you take an allied big guy, it costs the access to 1 allied team list.
This way a pact team can still get 3 biggies, but they don't get them for nothing.
(I would probably let the Lustrians kroxigor be free of this limitation).
IMO, this rule would have the added bonus of adding another layer of choice to these teams. One of the things that I like about the mixed teams is that the coach can pick and choose, and each coach may have his own version of "the best" mixed team. To me, it would be a good thing if the big guys were part of this design process, rather than just a guaranteed 'must have'.
