hi all!
for some time now it has been bothering me, that nearly all players with general access take block as their first skill. so i came up with the idea of easy and hard skills (like the trait system in 4.0)
so, on a normal roll you can take the easy skills of your categories, on a doubles roll you can take easy and hard skill in your categories and easy skills in the others.
what i would change, too: if you roll a 9 on an improvement roll, you can also take hard skills from your own categories.
these changes would affect players with access to fewer categories more, so i thought one should change the following too: if you roll an 8 on an improvement roll, and you can only choose from 1 skill category, you may take hard skills as well.
examples of hard skills: block, dodge, side step, guard, mighty blow, wrestle...
what do you guys think?
greets
alex

This would be a big advantage to teams that already have those hard skills at the start, such as Dwarves, Norse and Amazon. It will make life difficult especially for elves as they get skills easily.
Overall, I think it would lessen the impact of gaining skills on team development. A lineman that didn't get doubles or a 9 should in many cases be fired for bloating TV.
It would destroy Chaos.

Think its a little broken and to be honest doesnt relate to players 'positional type' which curent skills relate to and make sense. Unless you are suggesting sub deviding these into skill levels which just over complcates things.
