After seeing Romford RIOT League's fantastic inter match events, I thought I would Weigh in with our efforts
We have been using inter match events in the HEBBL for four seasons now, refining the rules with each passing season.
We initially used only one set of events, but we found early on that this could be highly beneficial or extremey harsh on new teams just starting out.
With this in mind, we have now created a three tier system based on TR. Each tier has similar events, but with increasing levels of impact on the game.
This means that the newer teams will experience lower impact to begin with, then have more things happen to the team as they gain more fame and recognition through TR.
We have also overhauled our event descriptions, weaving in HEBBL lore by using legendary players from previous seasons (The most famous of these being Sneaky B'Stard the Superstar Goblin and figurehead of the HEBBL!).
We are currently designing additonal rules for in game advertising which will get a trial run during our fifth season, kicking off July/August 2010. Watch this space!
In addition, we have created a team spreadsheet, using MS Excel. This has drop down tabs for all standard teams and will auto calculate SSPs player values etc. This sheet also has drop down tabs for skill ups.
