Those rules are great....and I played in that tournament.
I wanted my rules to be simpler and closer to the originals.
Also, I'd ignore all the special rules...the game you play at the CoM is NOT Blood Bowl any more.

Complete Dungeonbowl Roster rewrite
To keep thing really simple, I was thinking along the lines of college teams being blooding grounds for future stars (not the finished product), so have adopted a three race system primarily of linemen along these lines:
Race A: 6-12 linemen
Race B: 0-4 linemen, 0-2 positionals
Race C: 0-2 linemen.
I also reckon that some special player types (and races?) are simply not going to go near a college at all (witch elves, wardancers, trollslayers), are too big for a dungeon (big guys), or are too rare or from too far afield to be anything other than a secondary or tertiary group (vampires, amazons, slann, wood elf).
To start, I've got a few colleges below as tasters, based on the original rules. I see these as a sort of Ivy League (with the missing 4) making up the old world colleges - I quite like the idea of Lustrian and Norse colleges too, plus Undead ones. Not all the races I'd include are here, these are just initial ideas to demonstrate my thinking!
LIGHT COLLEGE
6-12 Halfling 5237 dodge, stunty, right stuff A GSP 30k
0-4 Dwarf 4329 block, thick skull, tackle GS AP 70k
0-2 Dwarf runner 6338 sure hands, thick skull GP AS 80k
0-2 Norse 6337 block G ASP 50k
JADE COLLEGE
6-12 Hobgoblin 6337 G ASP 40k
0-4 Orc 5339 G ASP 50k
0-2 Black Orc 4429 GS AP 80k
0-2 Goblin 6237 dodge, right stuff, stunty 40k
CELESTIAL COLLEGE
6-12 Elf 6347 GA SP 60k
0-4 High Elf 6348 GA SP 70k
0-2 High Elf Thrower 6348 pass, safe throw GAP S 90k
0-2 Wood Elf 7347 GA SP 70k
GREY COLLEGE
6-12 Marauders 6337 GAPS M 50k
0-4 Chaos Dwarf 4329 block, tackle, thick skull GS APM 70k
0-2 Bull Centaur 6429 sprint, sure feet, thick skull GS AP 130k
0-2 Chaos Warrior 5439 GSM AP 100k
AMETHYST COLLEGE
6-12 UW Goblin 6237 dodge, stunty, right stuff AM GSP 40k
0-4 UW Skaven 7337 animosity GM ASP 50k
0-2 UW Skaven Thrower 7337 pass, sure hands, animosity GPM AS 70k
0-2 Beastman 6338 horns, animosity GSM AP 60k
BRIGHT COLLEGE
6-12 Dwarf 4329 tackle, block, thick skull, thrall GS AP 70k
0-4 Human 6338 thrall G ASP 50k
0-2 Human Blitzer 7338 block, thrall GS AP 90k
0-2 Vampire 6448 blood lust, hypnotic gaze, regeneration, animosity GAS P 110k
... And so on. I suspect that the power balance is appalling (I'm looking at you, grey college), but it's little more than a tasty brain burp at this stage.

Much better rosters but the bigger problem is the game mechanism itself. Nothing wrong if you want something quick and fun and a change up from the norm but the rules have real timing issues in one-offs and are quite mismatched in perpetual situations (though some of the latter problems may be sorted out with more balanced rosters). I always liked DB though and would love to be able to give some of these rosters a try.
