I don't think I dropped much below 1700 for all those games...take it from me, playing 14 clawmbpo teams out of 16 games hurts a team...it's what happens if you don't park a high TV team in the Box.

A dull schedule but you did go 11/2/3 and did not get completely destroyed. Doesn't that sound like a league issue?
Depends on how you define completely destroyed :D...I started it at 2100 and ended it at 1500(post trim)...towards the end, I was being carried by my legend skink. The team could win by the end, but it wasn't a viable long term build. 6 out of the 7 saurii/krox that started it (mostly blodgers) all suffered retirement injuries (such as decapitation). The only reason I went for the sprint was that the team was built around a superstar saurus that had snuffed it, so since they needed a rebuild anyway (6x 31 spp+ saurus with no tackle is baaad for tournaments, even if it does hammer chaos). Blaze of Glory sort of thing :D.

Regardless, it's Box. I knew what I was getting into...was just providing a counterpoint to the "there's not 50% claw" thingy :).

Maybe Pile On should work like Guard. For ever player you have with pile on next to you, you get +1 to break the Armor? I know it is totally different from how it is set up now, but to me, Pile On is when other people get involved in tackle or scrim.

But that's just what the term actually means.

perhaps fend (again), cancels pion, just like a player cancels assist...

I have another suggestion, i have counted on it and the numbers work out prette well.
Piling On (Strength)
The player may use this skill after he has made a block as part of one of his Block or Blitz Actions, but only if the Piling On player is currently standing adjacent to the victim and the victim was Knocked Down. Roll a dice, on a (nonrerollable) roll of 5+ you may change the result form: prone to stunned, stunned to KO´d or KO'd to Badly Hurt. The Piling On player is Placed Prone in his own square -- it is assumed that he rolls back there after flattening his opponent (do not make an Armour roll for him as he has been cushioned by the other player!). Piling On does not cause a turnover unless the Piling On player is carrying the ball. Piling On cannot be used with the Stab or Chainsaw skills.

not sure I like that, rolling snake eyes for injury causes teh player to leave the pitch ko'd.....

seems too overpowered

unless the piling on player himself receives the lesser injury result

i.e.
you were prone, I go prone, you get stunned
you were stunned, I go stunned, you get ko'd
you were ko'd, I get ko'd you get BH

Sure, fend should counter Pile On.
It's just something to throw out there.

Hi Legowarrior,
AV7 0,319444444 0,202932099 0,199845679 0,301311728
If I read that right, then that's a 30% chance of a straight cas. I believe the word I'm looking for is CrrRrrRRrrazy!

But the other idea is quite interesting!
For the record, it's a completely and utterly different concept, and it could never make it into NTBB on that account. But I like it all the same. Allow me to roll with it a bit:

Piling On: Whenever this player blocks or assists a block and is still adjacent to the victim when the armor roll is made, then you may place this player prone in order to get a +1 bonus to the armor roll. Note that you may see the roll before using piling on, and that several players may use piling on on the same block. :orc:

Cheers
Martin

Oh, I should say that I locked down the 2012 version of NTBB at the end of january - if it remained open for too long, then it would hardly be the 2012 edition anymore
So for me, discussing PiOn/CPOMB is somewhat academic for the time being.

I could not have said it better, it's like you read my mind!
Now, for the sake of your sanity, I ask you get out, before all hope is lost! :)

Now, what about having fend defend against pile on? In most cases it does already, since you can't follow up on a guy with Fend, but I think it wouldn't be too much of an addition if fend blocked pile on when using both down.
Of course this will boost the new War Dancers a little bit, but thems the breaks.

Hi Ian,
If you make Piling On an Injury reroll only, and don't let Claw stack with Mighty Blow. then you get these numbers. 0.5% not bloody enough against Av9, and 0.8% too bloody against Av7.
Hmm... doesn't look too bad...
Admittedly, when I said no lower than 10, I would have been fine with 11, 12 maybe even 13.
Same with AV7, 18, 19, no problem.
But it just had to go a bit past :o
Kind of when you go into a shop asking for a 30-40£ shirt, and you know the salesman will start by saying: This one is just 44£ :P

But the numbers look OK, and the combination avoids most of the things I haven't liked about some of the other suggestions.
Only problem I could see is the perception/psychological bias you'll see when injury rolls are rerolled. It just feels so grim.
But personally I trust the numbers more than the feel.
As far the low 9.5%, as least we can be sure PiOn will be used almost every time on the injury roll :smoking:

Not half bad, as far as I can tell.
Cheers
Martin

Hi lego,
I think if it requires you to be in an assisting position to work, still be adjacent after the pushback, and will require you to put a handful of players prone if the dice don't roll right, then you don't really need a skill that cancels it.
Just IMO.

The more i think about plasmoids new pion the more I like it.
- less rolls
- still the "big chance big reward!" kind of thing. If you follow, witch usuaklly is a bad thing you can pile... 1 out of 6.
Seriosly, how did you think this out? Its really nice!
