What do you think about this experimental team.

The player should be 6 3 3 7 maybe Regenerate cost 60k

Because the player have only physical, he could take mutation every level, but cannot have general, strength, agility and passing trait.

So your opinions..

You could call them "shapeshifters".

I think that will be included in a future errata/F&Q: when you already have all skills in the category you are normally eligible for, you can treat any further skill roll as a double.

this is correct

Galak

So that means you could have dodge and block and so on. That is the reason why i would give them AV 7. ( You still can take Spikes trait ) :D

how could you have block and dodge and so on ? you would have to take all the mutations. unless you mean that, by giving only access to Physical, and since there are no skills in Physical, then all their skills could be chosen as if they had rolled a doubles ? that would be ridiculous then. the "all mutations but no other skills" as implied by gken seems much more appealing to me.

you can treat any further skill roll as a double.

For me that means on double I can take dodge because it is agility skill.

Am I correct or not? :)

yes, in this example, on doubles you could take an ag skill like dodge. And when the player has all the physical (skills?) you count every skillroll as a double.

its a loong way to go if you should have all physical though

This is a pretty disgusting team if they came stock AV8. You can form players into some monsters. Others into other nasty things. I like it. I would sacrifice Block, and Dodge for this stuff. It is like chaos -block, guard, mighty blow, and tacke.

You can have some sick players but I am sure we all know this.

I have a question though on a double would you be allowed any skill? Meaning like if I would roll a double would I take block, dodge. Because that is usually how a double works. I think this team would be excellent then.

Isn't is possible to make super specialists?

Like a two-headed, big hand, extra arms, very long legs player as a runner.

Some Horns, Claws, RSC for bash.

Tentacles, and Prehensile tail for keeping people where they belong. Foul appearance to prevent the passing game. Even some Spikes to make the player better armored.

If you think about it the Chaos murder players would use this, and give every single player claws, razor sharp, spikes. Then you have a 6/3/3/9 Claws, Razor Sharp guy. After that give players other useful skills. But I could definately see some issue there. The only advantage is the lack of Block, and no ST higher then 3.

they would need doubles to get block, tackle, guard!!! so controlling blocking will be difficult for them.

they would be able to make some nice hitters but if you control blocking or guard stack line, or have blodgers....they will be pretty ineffective.

Actually not a bad team idea.

Flip the rules on them. Physical on normal skill rolls ... doubles for anything else.

Sounds like the type of team the MBBL2 would allow.

It should be noted though that we already do allow a version of this team in the MBBL2 (and it allows them to have General access as well).

Skaven - Clan Moulder works with a pretty balanced version of these rules and I've never had league balance issues with it.

yeah but, my point is:
- there are no SKILLS in Physical, only TRAITS.
- when a player has no SKILLS left to take in the categories he's allowed, he can select skills as if he had rolled a doubles
- thus, a player with no skill and access only to Physical would be allowed, from the start, to get skills as if he had rolled a doubles, making it effectively a Gen,St,Ag,Pa,Ph access, which is utterly wrong ^^

that's why you'd have to make sure, as Galak said, that the rules are: "Mutation on normal roll, Mutation or GSAP on doubles".

OK. So please try to test this team.

We could call them SHAPESHIFTERS

Shapeshifter 6 3 3 7 60k and Physical access

reroll 70 k

Please write here your experiences with this team

Hey Alisdair
It occures to me this is what real chaos cultests in our world would be like.
For the rest of you, we play in a non stranderd world which is why we have some non standerd rules.
And some VERY non standerd rules!

Toumas, where did the regen go ? :D

I still like the idea without them, but I drool less seeing the regen removed for the same price.

If you play by e-mail we can set up a match if you want, they look like fun.

-Oh, and I think I like Changelings better than shape shifters because once a guy has gone down one path, he's not going to deviate much. But as a team, the guys will be changing and going in different directions with thier "skill choices" I would think. (Bash, ball handle, def, etc. like mentioned before.)

pm me and I'll set you up with my e-mail.
