About to start an Eight team league....with only 5 players

.... and I need some help. Basically, we have 3 people that want to play 2 teams each, that is fine.

We are playing a set schedule, similar to a NFL schedule, with each team playing each other team once, then finals.

What should I do when people have one of there teams face their other team? I want them to advance in line with other teams, I don't know what to do here.

My thoughts:

1) have one team forfeit the match randomnly
2) have each player with two teams set their "main" team and those win these matchups.
3) have someone else play one of their teams (I don't think this is a good idea)
4) Give out some MVPs, some gold, and call the game a tie.

What do you guys think I should do? I would love for there to be some type of series of rolls I could make to randomize a full game of BB, with injuries and stuff, but I want to be fair to everyone involved in the league.

Input appreciated. :)

You could also call those BYE weeks for each team. They count as a game week so both teams can heal MNGs, but neither team gets SPP's or winnings. For standings these teams have 1 less game played so instead of total wins for standings you use win %.

You could also redo the schedule so that instead of playing their other team they play another team in the same situation (so some teams would play each other twice). It would be easiest to do this the week the single teams play each other.

In both cases the schedule won't be completely balanced but all the outcomes would be decided on the pitch.

That is perfect, thanks =)

When making the schedule, I will make them all face themselves the first week, match them up against the other teams shifting it all around, and then record it in the schedule as if they played themselves........ confusing lol, but I think I got it. ;)

In our league we have 8 teams over 4 players, and we do have other people play our teams for the 1 game per season that they play each other. It works ok, as we are a fairly honest bunch anyway, and plus everyone knows if you do something stupid then someone else will do it back!

We do find that everyone picks their main team to be the one with the lowest AV though, cause we all figure we'd wouldn't be able to honestly play our own strength teams against our weaker teams without holding back on the blocks!

We have even had the odd occasion when someone has played themselves.

I'm in 2 minds about wether this is a good idea though

We always had the coach of 2 teams pick a primary and when their teams faced each other one of the other coachs would coach the secondary team. It worked very well and we never had any issues with it.
