Eliminate MNG

Although in one sense they encourage having to build up a bench the problem of MNG's is that you suffer in one game and then you get to suffer in the next one as well. So how about this for a rule:

At the end of a game any player which suffers a Serious Injury of any type instead of having an 'M' and missing the next game will instead write a '1' in the injury column. If they have a number there already then you just add another one to it. After recording the number they roll a d6 and if this number is less than the number in the Injury column then that number is reset to 0 and the player gets a niggling injury.

This is to represent the build of accumulated damage from suffering all these injuries in a game whilst at the same time meaning that a team which gets hammered once is able to walk into the next game without knowing that all of those SI's have killed it off for a second time. Obviously this requires some book keeping as well as some honesty from players (especially in non Commissioned leagues) but surely that isn't too much to ask now is it...

Obviously a big issue before journeymen and inducements but find it hard to believe it's an issue now.

I guess I either don't see the problem, or don't agree with it. The casualty table gives you a 50/50 chance of NOT missing the next game (11-38) as it is. Does it really need to be higher? And if you do something needing a die roll, those of us who roll badly will just have those same players that MNG miss multiple NGs. :)
