It prevents the Big Guys from being too dominant. If you had a big guy on the team and they could use re-rolls, I suspect you would tend to rely on them more. By not letting them use re-rolls, you have to rely on your standard players first.Thom wrote:Everyone has pointed out that Big Guys can't use rerolls, ok, we know that, but WHY NOT? On the Big Guy subject:
Just played a game with my dwarves against halflings. Their ST7 treeman failed two 3-die blocks (two skulls, bothdown and triple skulls), and the other treeman failed one 2-die block (double skulls).
These three events made things a lot easier for me (result 12-3 [kicking rules]) - they had plenty of TRR's, so had they been able to use them for the Big Guys, the second half would've been a lot different! Would've won anyhow, but ending three turns in a TO without doing anything else before that does help the other team...
The no TRR rules balances out the high ST real nicely. An excellent rule.
