In my experience once a Dark Elf team has survived its first league season intact and some key players have developed some necessary skills, Dark Elves can be a force to be reckoned with. As a team they aren't great at any one thing, but they're good at everything. They will out score those teams they can't beat up (e.g. Orcs), and beat into submission those teams that can out score them (e.g. Woodies).
Just my 2 cents worth.

I love Dark Elves. They are my #1 team. Granted, I learned the game with them when the game came out... (Was it '91???) I've been using them a loooong time...
If you need any help with strategies, etc, I'm more than willing to help. I play a running game, which is even better now that I have 4 blitzers, plus witch elves who don't have to use frenzy anymore. I've only lost once with them since 4th edition was made unofficial again, and that was in a dungeonbowl game. So lemme know what you guys don't like about them or what strategy you are using. I think they are one of the top teams to use!

[quote="Twist"] witch elves who don't have to use frenzy anymore.

?. Official rules say that if a push back result occurs the player with frenzy must follow up and take the extra block.
Or do you mean that you may choose not to make the first block and say dodge away. This would be legal, but once you've made the block, you must follow up any pushback and if the player is not down then a second frenzied block must be made.

I think that the Dark Elves were the weakest of the 3 elven teams, till 2k1 when they added the 2 blitzers. Im still not sure they are hard enough yet but time will tell. However i have seen that dark elves are highly temperamental and can easily have their games plummit like the mercury in winter in alaska with only some minor bad luck.

Dark Elf effectiveness
I have just started a Dark Elf team in our with all teams being
new tr 100 and have a 4-1 record ,this is the first time for me
playing an agility team.I think the DE rule because they can
dodge and or grind when needed .I still think that they
should be able to have a Minotaur but nothing is perfect...
