When a league starts, most (if not all) the teams inscribed DO have names. But sooner or later those team names are forgotten. Coaches just say I´m gonna play Pepe´s undead tomorrow, or Nacho´s goats (chaos) crushed me today. Noone knows the names of those teams.
But still there are those really special teams, those that define themselves season after season and become famous. They are no longer refered as "Somenones´ dwarves" and so, but by their real name. And everybody in the league knows not only the race and the coach, but the names of some of their players too. Those are the real Legend Teams.
This status is achieved not only because a good name, but good player´s names, good "roleplaying", and sticking to the team no matter what happens (bad luck strikes, rules changes, whatever).
Here are our Legendary teams names:
Ankh-Morpork Motherf*ckers
Vicious and unreasonable dark elves. Bunch of elven goth posers trying to bash opponents. They always foul. Most unbeliveable and amusing plays ever.
Hall of Fame:
Piotr Murphy, dark elf blitzer
Siouxie, Witch Elf
Render Broncos
Orcs that like to pass the ball. Very solid team that almost never plays da cage. Probably best painted team around.
Hall of fame:
Zork Elfway, quarterback
Vexxon Blackmouth, unstoppable blitzer
El Laboratorio(The Lab)
Albino Skaven! White lab rats with cute pink tails. Well known for their precission gamestyle.
Hall of fame:
Algernon, pandimensional Gutter Runner
Cerebro (Brain), hyperintelligent lab rat thrower
Those teams have never dominated the league (the Broncos have played a couple of finals, but that´s all), but they are still more famous than teams that do dominate...
I also remember a chaos team run by our traditional halfling coach named Tzeentch Teeth Sculptors, that was sadly retired after first season. The guy went back to their beloved and beautifully painted halflings (and treemen).
