I think that's a fair question. I mean doesn't that violate the Sacred Rule of No Exceptions?
I'm sure it doesn't and a BBRC memeber will be along shortly to tell me why.

It prevents the Big Guys from being too dominant. If you had a big guy on the team and they could use re-rolls, I suspect you would tend to rely on them more. By not letting them use re-rolls, you have to rely on your standard players first.

It is also meant to match the game's history.

Big Guys are supposed to be EXTREMELY unreliable players. Not allowing them team re-rolls is one of the best and simplest game mechanics to simulate this.

Doesn't every single skill represent an exception to the normal game? Why shouldn't "Big Guy" be any different?

On the Big Guy subject:

Just played a game with my dwarves against halflings. Their ST7 treeman failed two 3-die blocks (two skulls, bothdown and triple skulls), and the other treeman failed one 2-die block (double skulls).
These three events made things a lot easier for me (result 12-3 [kicking rules]) - they had plenty of TRR's, so had they been able to use them for the Big Guys, the second half would've been a lot different! Would've won anyhow, but ending three turns in a TO without doing anything else before that does help the other team...

The no TRR rules balances out the high ST real nicely. An excellent rule.
