As said before in another thread toby, I told you GW has sold their rights on video developpment... Maybe this studio will work on it (even if I can't imagine they don't keep the teams as made)? If not, they won't avoid lawsuits, due to the fact they used "old world" "blood bowl", which are trademarks...

Old World, New World, Next World, Water World. You cant have a trademark on common language words, at least not in Germany.

There is definitely demmand for an "Online Blood Bowl"

When Games Workshop is unable to engage, or, sell the lizence to someone capable of doing such a project... this is what happens and i basically like it.

I wonder if any of you ever read about how big StarCraft is in Korea;
They Show SC Matches live on TV there, top players earn up to 50.000 € winning a tournament;

Blood Bowl is wasting so much potential...

Toby - If you honestly believe the fact that GW aren't attempting to put out some online version of BB gives these bozos the right to infringe their intellectual propert then you really have some problems. The game doesn't even look any good!

And I still don't give a damn about Starcraft. Last I heard M:tG tournaments had stupidly huge prizes too, and I grew tired of B***ards of the coast's constant obsoletion of sets that were barely a year old quite a while ago.

Its all about demmand and supply;
the basic economic principle everybody talks about.

It's also a matter of IP laws. In a courtroom, these guys wouldn't stand a chance. I'm sure they will realize this when they get the letter from Fanatic.

Again, this assumes this supplier survives.. As this seems to be Alchemy Entertainment's sole product, I'm guessing this is the last we'll ever see of them...

I have to disagree with you here Toby, just because we have *yet* to produce an online version does not give other "creative and dynamic" (their words)

companies a right to steal our IP and ideas.

You have to remember that Games Workshop is a tabletop games and model company, that's what we do best and why we haven't rushed out into the online gaming biz. However with Warhammer Online coming out soon this may well change. Don't expect anything in the near future but we are tentatively dipping our toes in the water.
