Which paint to use.

Post by Dino1626 »

Having decided to give figure painting a shot, the only question I have now is what paint to use.I live in a very rural part of the U.S.,so I think mail order is the way to go since the only paint I can get out here is Testors.Any suggestions as to what paint to try?

Thanks guys,
Dino

Not Testors :D

I'd go with GW or Vallejo.

I use Vallejo and they are high quality. Honestly though I think GW paints are just as good, if not better. They're just more expensive and dry out because of their crap containers. Don't use Testors or any enamel, they don't layer and ruin brushes and brains.

I'd order Vallejo.

I recomment the Reaper paints. I like their colour range and they do not look so shiny. Maybe it fits to Blood Bowl but I personally dont like the comic-style look of many GW paints but they also have some good newer ones.

In the meantime the acrylic paints that you can find at most craft stores are pretty decent too, not to mention cheaper.

A team painted with enamals Like testors, also does'nt look right when they are on the pitch with a team painted In acrylics like most Blood Bowl teams are. I made that Mistake with a 2500 Pt 40k Orc team a few years ago. It was bad... real bad. :o
