Need a new BB collecting challenge??? Dungeonbowl Monsters
If you have a complete BB collection like Traveller does ... you might be looking for a new collecting challenge.
Here is one that I've been slowly pursing over the last 6 years.
Collecting all 12 of the Dungeonbowl Monster figures that were used for the White Dwarf article on Blood Bowl Dungeonbowl Wandering Monsters. All of the monsters in that article were based on actual figures at that time from GW ... so its a true challenge as none of them are still in production (if memory serves me correctly)
If you every decide to pursue this ... here is what you are looking for (it took me on and off searching for about 3 years to find the figures used for that article so I thought I'd list it for anyone else interested):
From the C29 series you need:
Hippogriff
Jabberwock ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c20301monsters-h.htm )
Manticore ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c20300monsters-h.htm )
Hydra ( http://www.solegends.com/citc/c29chaoshydra.htm )
Zoat
Giant Scorpion ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c20301monsters-h.htm )
DS2 Dragon Ogre ( http://www.solegends.com/citdragon/ds2dragonogre.htm )
40k Death World Monsters Ambull ( http://www.virtualalchemist.com/item.cgi?520 )
074406/44 Rat Ogre w/Sword ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c20223skaven-h.htm )
0804 Orc War Wyvern ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat88/0804dragons.jpg )
073226/31 Chaos Daemonette Lewdbeast ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c202 ... ttes-h.htm )
073226/9 Chaos Bloodletter Hellblade 2
+ 073226/16 Chaos Bloodletter Body 4 ( http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c202 ... ters-h.htm )
===================================
I have a C29 Zoat and Hippogriff in my collection now ... I'll try to take pictures of them and post them with a link to here so that you can see them as Stuff of Legends doesn't have pictures of these miniatures.
I'm still missing 2 of the figures from the above list ... but I keep looking for them.

I always hoped to get me a jabberwocky one day, but with all the competition coming up now, I can probably forget it

this was a side project of mine too...but nothing I was too serious about. I was just looking for minis that represented the monsters...not the specific ones

I THINK I have a few of those...not entirely sure where though - likliest is in the attic at my mum's place back in Britain. I'm 90% sure I have a Jabberwock and a Giant Scorpion, and pretty sure on the Ambull. I may even have a Manticore somewhere.

I have or had most of those I think:
I've got a Jabberwock somewhere and i've definately got a Zoat (maybe even both the old zoats) and a Dragon Ogre.
I sold an Ambull and the Giant Scorpion on eBay last year.
I might even have most of the Manticore somewhere, never painted the damn thing as his foot snapped off, I think two of my mates had the same problem

The short answer is "no", but it is a qualified "no" because there are odd ways of interpreting the question which could justify the answer "yes".

I am hoping some one can clear this up.
Go here: http://www.solegends.com/citcat912/c20300monsters-h.htm
and the second one down says griffin.
Go here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWA:IT
And the seller says that in the spring 87 citadel catalogue, it is listed as a hippogriff.

Don't know if this helps but:
Griffin:
A fabulous beast with the head and wings of an eagle and the body of a lion.
Hippogriff:
A monster having the wings, claws, and head of a griffin and the body and hindquarters of a horse.
(Dictionary.com)
The tail looks more like a horses than a lions but the body is anyones guess. Could easily be either and was probably called both by GW at different times would be my guess.
