list of miniature companies?

Where can I find a list of companies producing miniatures?
I tried the search in this forum, but did not find any decent listing.

I am not only talking of companies that produce "Fantasy Football" miniatures, but any companies that produce 28mm figs.

This would make the search for possible conversion candidates much easier.

Try looking through there for inspiration. It shows a lot of old, unavailable miniatures, but it should give you company names to help with your search.
