does anyone know what this miniature is and where he is from

He is a Vor Growler from the old Fasa game Vor, but I don't know what scale he is, that's probably a 40mm base under his feet there.

I see it more as a (Snow) Troll than a Krox though, but do find a use for it; Nuffle compels you!

Looks very similar to some of Privateer Press' Trolls...but I believe that Matt Wilson was involved in Vor before founding Privateer.
So if you strike out on that model, PP's range may have something for you.

Growlers are still for sale just figure which one it is, or find a replacement as other places name that one as Growler Bull C23 which is not listed. Probably the base is 50mm (notice the dot marks).

i have that growler. it came with the vor box game. someone added the chains and armor. its huge!

if they are as big as you state, then why are the Iron Wind prices so cheap?? doesn't make any sense given Iron Wind is a casting company - it would be better for them to melt them down and re-use the pewter on something more expensive..
