Re: Fitch Face's Norse Plog- Thrower and possible Kislevite

So I've been toying with the idea of doing Kislevites for either Blood Bowl or Mordheim and I came up with this mock-up. I'm not entirely happy with him for scale purposes (Empire flagellants turned out to be smaller than LotR minis. Who knew!?). But anyway, here he is:

And here's a sneaky peak at some of the progress I've made with my Norse team:

Fitch Face's Norse Plog- Thrower and a Kislevite, pg 3

Post by Shteve0 »

These are very cool - great work on the thrower helmet, though his torso perhaps looks a little... unfinished?

What parts have you used for the kislevite?

Cheers buddy, yeah I perhaps should have said he's a WiP. He will also have a left arm, thankfully

Head- Marauder Horsemen
Body- Empire Flagellant
Legs- Corsairs of Umbar from LotR

In themselves the components all looked pretty suitable but I'm not convinced they work very well together so I'm looking for alternative torsos. Got some ideas for different positionals- this cossack being a linemen- but need to finish the Norse first!

Fitch Face's Norse Plog- The Fitch is back- New bitz and bo

Post by fitch-face »

Hi guys! I haven't updated in a long time because, frankly, I haven't made any progress in a long time. I got roped into a job out of town and had to leave pretty sharpish so Blood Bowl was pretty low down on my priorities. But I'm back at it now! Hope everyone's been well in my absence!

So here's a couple of choppy players, still a lot of work to do.

And here's a WiP werewolf, still a long way to go here too.

And this guy is gonna be a lineman. Not sure whether there'll be uproar about this (cough Heff cough cough) but I wanted to get a dwarf in the team somewhere because of the fluff around Norse Dwarfs. I also figured this'd be a funky way to represent a -M or -Ag lineman. I'm a little confused because he's a stripped miniature from eBay and it looks like whoever had him before me actually put orange fur in his mohawk instead of painting him :o :puke: Terrifying. But yeah, I'm happy that he fits the theme, he is wearing trousers rather than shorts but it could just be that the team uniform is a bit baggy on him :P I'm tempted to cut his mohawk off so he would look less berserker/slayer-ish but I'm not sure. Any thoughts?

Good to be back anyway guys, look forward to catching up on what you're all up to.

on the Kislevite, Hasslefree just released a sprue of "Russian Dwarf" heads which are basically bearded faces with huge fur hats on.. would be ideal for Kislevite peeps I think..

Note to mention the fact that those Hasslefree heads are by Bob Olley (which makes them more desirable in my view!)

Fitchy! Welcome back mate. About time you did some work!

Like the way the wolf is coming on, though feel like he'd look even better slightly hunched... maybe more like this?

Just an idea :) - good to see you back, buddy!

See that ????

I'm nicking that idea, straight up stealing it, literally pushing you over in the playground and running off with that idea.

I love Kislev and that right there is an excelent build 8)

I may have to buy those russian dwarf heads, they're great cheers for the tip Norse!

Thieve away! I honestly don't mind, I'm just flattered that you thought it was worth stealing! :) Just be aware before you buy any flagellants, they aren't the best size match for the legs or for other Blood Bowl players' torsos. If you can think of a suitable alternative, I'd love to re-steal from you :P

Always a pleasure to hear your C&C, cheers Shteveo! My personal preference would be to keep him pretty upright but you're right, his neck isn't very well built. I think I'm going to bulk it out a bit when I next put kneadatite to plastic.

I'm quite tempted to try the legs with the torso's from marauder horsemen. Not as steroid bull as the foot marauders, and a good match for the heads.
The crappy broad belts can easily be removed and replaced with broad, sculpted sashes.

But there are a few flagelant bits rattling around in my bits box, so once I get hold of the other components I'll post some more ideas.
