Congratulations!
Sounds like you had a fun time at the tourney and always nice to go home with some silverware. 3 players sent off per game! Nice.
Thanks much! It was a lot of work, but it was really rewarding. Now I need to convert and paint up the Blitzers, Runners, and Throwers to have a fully completed team!

Our local tournament, the Uff Da Bowl, is coming up June 28. I was building different teams for fun, and I came up with a roster I really like... for a team I don't have painted. I was considering another team challenge, but the next couple weeks are going to be crazy.

So I decided to go with a roster that requires me painting 1 player, rather that converting and painting 13!

Edit: Finally! Here is the Queen Helga dwarf mini I'll be using for my Zara. One of my favorite GW minis, ever! Excited to paint it up, finally. I bought several of them when the Grudge of Drong box came out in the late 90's. :orc:

Helga / Zara almost done. Need to dull-coat and base. I may continue to work on her, but she is at the "good-enough-now-let-it-go" stage.

(The high gloss look is from the future polish & ink.)

Helga based. I finished her the night before the local tourney.

The dull coat was dry, the sand on the base painted, the static grass was glued in place. I grabbed the green paint in a dropper style bottle to paint the edge of the base...

The nozzle was clogged, so when I squeezed, the cap shot off, and spattered my pants, shirt, desk, and newly finished Helga with green paint.

I ran her to the sink with a clean brush, and did my best to get the fresh green paint off with water and frantic brushing! For the most part, it worked. I needed to do some touch ups, and I see some in the photo that I missed. I painted the ring black/grey, and called it a day.

She did well for me in the tournament, as a star should! Her stab was awesome, and came through more than it should have. I often used her as a safe first attack. She took 2 Bulls off the pitch vs Chaos Dwarves. The 4 St + Dauntless was great against big guys. The Dodge reroll played a factor a couple of times. She did get taken out in a couple of matches, but she was a fun star to play with. The tournament also gave the incentive to paint up another star!

I'll go back at some point to clean her up, but 'flings are up next!

Completed Slann team. Had a basic paint job done, but was missing 1 Blitzer, 1 Catcher, and extra linefrogs. It took selling it to get motivated to finish them.

Today was our monthly Game Day. One of my friends (and fellow fan of all things orange) showed up and asked "Did you see these?" He placed a set of orange NAF dice on the table. He had gotten a set last month, and was very excited about this.

I picked them up and put them in my pocket saying I had seen them.

He then showed me a second pair, and asked if I had seen his set? I was confused. He then said "happy birthday!"

He did say that they came with a condition... I can't use them when playing against him! Seems fair.

Just wanted to share a really awesome Blood Bowl surprise I had today. The dice treated me well, so that was a nice bonus on top of everything else.
