Love the catcher to bits. Fantastic - well done! Hope to play across from these some day. I'm looking forward to seeing a complete team shot

Conversely, I love the catcher pose, though the helmet bugs me (in opposition to you, I'd have rather used a clear stand).
Think the thrower is my favourite.

Not keen on the rat orge though.

The greenstuff is now cured on the last 3 members of my 11-rat starting squad, so here they are:

Festuk Wormpaws (lineman) and Ikrit the Horned (blitzer):
Image

Festuk started life as a Skaven clanrat, he gained Withergrasp's tentacles and a spare shoulder pad from one of the other conversions. Once he's painted up he should look suitably sporty. Ikrit is a combination of one of the Skaven blitzers, legs from a Skaven champion and head from a plague monk.

Lastly, a pic of the brothers Bilebelly:
Image
Skurt Bilebelly (on the left) you've seen before. He's big, but sadly rather dim.

Skrit Bilebelly (right) on the other hand, possesses a keen Blood Bowl mind and will probably be my team captain. He's cobbled together from a Skaven lineman (head, tail and right hand), Impact Chaotic warrior (right arm and pad), Marauder Chaos Thug (left arm), Goblin King Gromm the Paunch (torso), an old Chaos Warrior (legs) and Skaven blitzer (feet). He's also been rebuilt twice as I wasn't happy with how he came out. He still in my mind hasn't worked as well as his brother, but I'll stick with him now!

Looking great! I like that tentacled linerat a lot. There simply are few things cooler than 2nd ed skaven (and Jes skaven in general).

Thanks guys! It's great to hear you enjoy seeing the figures :D

Anyway, I finally got round to building the last lineman. I also thought long and hard about the Rat Ogre; I like my 4-armed one, but it does have some drawbacks - he's big, some folks don't like him and I can't use him at a GW-only tournament. With those things in mind I've created a 2nd Rat Ogre. The advantage also being that one can represent Headsplitter if I need.

Both of these are still WIP and have only been hacked and glued, so sculpting to repair/conceal the damage is needed. It's also gloomy and pouring with rain, so the pic is pretty dire! I present Pitlik Hookclaw and Redmaw:

Does this Rat Ogre fit better than the 1st? (God, I hope so ;) )

Is his lower hand a chainsaw or am I seeing things again? :smoking:

Anyway, I do like it better than the previous one, but it's hard to tell until it's painted, so you know what to do!

The lineman looks ace, really dynamic pose captures him perfectly mid-game I think. Really nice job on him already. The Rat Ogre certainly looks better than the first, but I can't quite make out what his head is or where his focus is. Sure once you tidy him up he'll look as amazing as the rest of the team! Great work so far!

Yeah, sorry for the shoddy pic! The head is from the fantasy rat ogre from the same era but straight on. The funny chainsword thing is just a serated blade that's on the original minotaur fig.

Better than RO #1.

Here's some slightly more representative pics of the "better" RO ;)

Note, still no further work done on this, so there's plenty of cover up needed on the cut areas:

Periodic Skaven Thread (Rat Ogre v II)

Post by Xac »

I'm following this thread with a lot of interest...such a fantastic team you're doing!!! I really envy your hands!!!

I liked the old rat ogre, though this one fits better with the team...but...his left fist looks gigantic, doesn't it?

I think perspective is to blame, although Bob Olley sculpted big hands on the minotaur, they're ok ;-)
