Conversion tools: advice and experience wanted!

the box set comes with a cutting disc that can cut through metal and plastic, ideal for cutting off arms and legs but i would suggest a clamp honestly! there is a lot of power in that tool and once using it there is no way i would contemplate holding it in my hand while using any rotary tool.the bits you get in the box are adequate but there are more specialist bits for sale at approx £10 (cylindrical tungsten stainless steel cutter) which you can use for shaping purposes.stone troll with both hands on a rock above his head?rock gone but hands still there - 3 mins . The mini gets very hot though.good luck

Thanks for the info Ewan- I'll go and see if my local B&Q has any left.

I already have a clamp so that's no problem- I definitely don't like the thought of using a Dremel or similar on a mini I'm holding!

As for heat, I find that minis heat up even when I'm just using the razor saw which Khaine and Deathwing suggested- is this normal or do I just have a very good wrist action?!?

For the record, I've now managed to convert four mummies using the razor saw by chopping the arms off the fanatic Khemri mummies and replacing them with the arms of the Ramtut Star player mini- they now have more 'width' and look much bulkier and imposing. I've also beheaded them and then re-attached their heads so they look straight forward and not off to the side as they were. When I get them painted I'll try to post a picture if I can lend a digital camera from someone and figure out how to get the pics here (technology isn't my strong suit- a razor saw is about my level! )
