and feel free to help make it more playable! We don't want to make it too copmplicated, we're not aiming for bloodbowl rules here: no turnovers, and all that. It's not american football, it's pitfighting that happens to involve ball-shaped sacrificial tributes being passed around in an attempt to appease the dark god. But mainly, as Torg says: it's a beer and pretzels game. We want to make it a bit more balanced based on some of torg's early comments on it being one-sided. there are several messages regarding it on the Forum of Doom do pop by and read them!
there's also a great site by sonny bundgaard which features some of his gw and heresy figs amongst others, and he's got some fantastic conversions of a feral beastman team for deathball, plus a DB arena he's making. Click on Project deathball from the left hand menu.

There is a second head. I used the one with mask, but the bare head version is nice, too. A bit greenstuffing to fill the gapes between the single parts (BTW... 1 body, 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 hands and 2 heads) , but i used no pins on this mini. Well, if playing with the mini, maybe its better to use pining ! I glued the parts in three steps waiting between a few hours that the GS dried.

hm, where ?... i didnt see them ?! Some "over-cast" at the end of the legs, which i cut away, but no holes to fit "cast in pins" into. Ok, the left arm got a mark so he fit in the right position.

But no prob to glue with GS IMO.

Gnghh...

I want to like this... really I do... I love Minotaurs, I love Blood Bo... Fantasy Football.... But I just don't like this mini :( I can sadly only judge it from the photos but it just sits looking at me like "Acme Minotaur" with huge hands and hooves. Not too fond of the pose either, just seems...I dunno, it's hard to put my finger on it but it looks like it's sprinting comedy style instead of charging bull style (not enough 'weight' sinking the legs down and the muscle of th legs pushing the beast up and forward).

While I'm sure it is a nice fig, it just doesn't do it for me sadly :(

Wonder what a mino in a three point stance would look like... probably a bit crap for a model mind you.

How would you (assuming for the moment that you could if you wanted to) sculpt a minotaur? Bear in mind you need to convey strength and speed, whilst making a fair representation of 'man meets bull'...And you can't let it look like an ogre with a cow head. Big hands and feet are the traditional way of representing strength, though it has to be said that they're far more in "proportion" (i use the word contemptuously, it's a friggin minotaur, so there are no rules that apply) on this model than say on an ogre or giant. where the hands can be as big as the model's head.
Also, you need to make a minotaur that looks distinct from all the other , ahem, ACME minotaurs out there.

Thought about 3 legged stance, but you need to have human legs for that to look good. The minotaur looks Farming awesome in real life, but then I would say that wouldn't I?
"it seems like it's sprinting comedy style"
Close, but not comedy, comic book. You try making a model with two sets of knees run. How many minotaurs in your collection are running? Or are they all standing still, two feet planted on the ground, doing not a lot?

Are you coming to partizan or salute this year,in the UK. you can see it there.

And if you think I'm being snippy or unecessarily defensive, think how hard I worked on it for you to come on and dismiss it.

You are entitled to your opinion, of course  I can't make you like it if you don't: but I suspect you don't like it partly because it's not designed in the style you're used to, I'm an acquired taste!

Acme minotaur my arse!

Cheers
Andy

Course, this is where he tells me he's got loads of heresy stuff and i look a proper Bat.
