There are indeed plans to add a troll certainly, just got to decide whether to go down the river or stone troll route, I'm feeling stone troll at the moment and then trying my hand at sculpting some pads. Not sure about gobbos just yet just gotta work out what models would fit the theme thinking about it now I think some 40k grotz might do the trick witha little work. I've never played an Orc team so don't know the worth of gobbos :)

Very clever and interesting conversion work using the old BB figs, and that paint job is excellent! My only criticism is the use of fantasy Black Orcs for Blitzers; they're lower strength but the same size as your actual Black Orcs, and more armoured too. Doesn't quite look right imo but I'm sure the team will look great :D

Yeah I see what you mean, Nob orcs are just slightly bigger and meaner looking than the black orcs. The Black Orcs whilst looking less armoured have much bigger, musclier arms so that justifies the extra stength over the blitzers, and the kit was slightly less adaptable than the fantasy black orcs when it came to imparting a sense of motion.... I wanted the Black Orc blockers to look much more static than anyone else to justify their low movement and I wanted the blitzers to look like they were still agile (ish) despite the armour.... im not looking forward to painting the blitzers as much because I have to work out how to paint all that armour in a balanced way which isnt too much yellow and doesnt make it all look heavy.....hmmmmm

I think they looks really awful... why dont you give them to me to be ridd of them? eh? :)

seriously: your yellow is so great. Could you write a description on how you do it? The skin contrast well to the yellow and are darkish (me like) and the models, poses are also great.

Do you have a name for your team?

I think they are most excellent. I like the variations in the uniform as well.

You paint better than me so please accept this official notice of dislike :D

Sorry for the recent lull in activity on this, but I assure you I've been busily working away and have got 2 of the 4 blitzers finished! I would have had some pics up by now if it wasn't for the weather being unrelenting in its crapness! So unfortunately until such time as I can get a pic this will have to do. So I'm standing on a total of 5 completed with 7 orcs to go and then yet to purchase a troll or any gobbos.

I have a question for you all though, on one of my blitzers I have painted the orcidas logo on both his fists on the gauntlets. Now I'm stuck between whether to say (as part of team backstory/ fluff) that orcidas sponsors my entire team or does this particular player have a sponsirship deal with orcidas for his fists? Ie. incentive payments for every player he smacks in the jaw with their logo? This idea tickled me somewhat lol

And I believe someone asked for a recipe for my yellow, I have not ignored that but as and when I can get photos I was gonna do a step by step maybe

UPDATE TIME:

I have the thrower and a lineman and a blitzer finished and a 3rd Blitzer about 50% done. I have 2 awesome looking goblins on order and waiting for them to be delivered :D So im getting towards a finished team quite well at the moment.

This Guy is the thrower, few things to point out is he's sponsored by orcidas who provided his go faster red boots, and his helmet to protect his unusual Orc football brain.

This is the first of the linemen, nothing particularly special but he has a preference for Spike instead of Orcidas.

This Guy is one of the Blitzers, Orcidas have sponsored his Fists, he gets incentives for every KO and Casualty he causes with them!

I don't know how to describe your painting skills in words. I think this is the best looking orc team I've seen so far. The Orcidas lines on the thrower's boots is a small detail that adds so much. I wish I'd be able to do something similar for my figs. Well, maybe I'll get there some day.

Amazing team. Can't wait to see the gobbos and the troll.

no questioning the painting skill here - excellent work - but I'm not sold on either the uniform colour (because I think it's drab and boring) or the skin colour (because I'm old skool and think Black Orcs should be darker than orcs)..

sublime brush work, but the team would have looked a lot better with a more interesting strip and some racial diversity..

just saying..

They are a combination of pieces from the plastic blood bowl orc team from the starter box, 40k Ork Nobz and Boyz and Warhammer Fantasy Black Orcs.

@Norse Yeah I get what you are saying about racial diversity and I had thought about it for a long time about whether I should or shouldnt make the black Orcs darker. In the end i decided not to purely because I like Orcs to be bright and colourful, I mean they provide great comic relief to GW games and I wanted to capture the humour of them rather than make them gritty and dark. I couldnt find a way to make dark skinned Orcs fit with the comic aspect. As for the uniform really in my mind the uniform is all about the bright yellow armour and I wanted this to stand out and not be washed out hence the bleached out neutral colours of the clothes. What would your suggestions be on the clothing colours? Bearing in mind that the skin and yellow should still stand out and the overall model not be a mish mash of colour explosion :)

@Skurk thanks for your comments on the Orcidas symbol. When I first painted the boots they were just red and looked a little to Wizard of Oz Ruby slippers and not the bright trainers/sneakers that i was going for. Just the addition of the white line and that symbol instantly transformed the overall look of the shoes and that made me very happy :D
