Wondered why you'd not come to Gencon the last couple of years.Norse wrote:did you need the 5th one out of interest??![]()
I think you have an un-natural interest in small, hairy, beligerent types, which is another reason I no longer attend Tulips TBH..![]()

The fifth one, yes I did. It's mostly some second ed minis I had lying around that inspired me to bulk them out to a full team to recreate the first Blood Bowl team I ever painted (with extra bits to make it 3rd ed compatible). I'll be getting them done soon.
The fourth one I'm not certain why I bought...think I wanted to paint up the official team to my current ability for some reason. Still not done it.
(FWIW number 1 is my old red and white 3rd ed team, number 2 is the 2nd ed team I had at the Blood Bowl years ago but which aren't up to scratch now and number 3 is my Thunder Hammer Scottish Dwarfs.)

Re: New Black Scorpion Dwarf Team
This team came close to convincing me to play Dwarves especially considering the cost of the Greebo Chaos Dwarves... but they are gorgeous... I could do both at that price mind you. My main issue with Black Scorpion stuff tends to be the similarity of the models. For example, the slayers here look almost identical from what I can see in the photo. Despite owning the high elves/humans, the lack of poses can be annoying.

Those mohats will make that an aggravating model for going prone and such. Other than that, looks good.

I'd be tempted to pick this team up and swap in a couple of the AoW plastic slayers. The slayers in the pic do nothing for me, I'm afraid.

Re: New Black Scorpion Dwarf Team
Not really awkward...I have a really lousy memory, that tourney was 9 years ago and I honestly don't have a custom Roller.
Just means Matt has a better memory than me.
If the result was 1-1 then that would have been the first Blood Bowl. I had my Third ed dwarfs at that one. The Death roller would have been the standard thired edition one.
(I lost my first game of the tournament to one of the many teams exploiting how nasty Luthor was at the time and then went on a run of four 1-1 draws. I couldn't tell you who or what I played in any of them., excepting that there was one game vs Halflings where he had three treemen and did a good job of hiding his hobbits behind the wall of big STR big AV. I also remember the last game because I was way down the bottom tables thanks to the rulespack counting a 1TD loss the same as a Draw, and the fact that my opponent was a Norse player who thought that throwing long bombs laterally accross the pitch was a good idea.)

I like these alot. Think I'll probably pick some up. Not sure what I'll do with the slyer helmets (got a strange thracian/bastarnae thing going on there), maybe sculpt some hair or something.
The best news is that BS are releasing more FF minis, would love to see a well made lizard team from them.

Re: New Black Scorpion Dwarf Team
depends how brittle the resin is, and that differs per manufacturer..
Goblin Forge has the worst resin ever.. I don't think anyone ever received a Micheline Tenderness in one piece!
Scibor uses a very pliable resin which is much more forgiving.. it's almost slightly rubberized..
so when I say I hate resin what I mean is I hate "brittle" resin.. I think, though not sure, that the GW Finecast resin is pretty brittle too..

Re: New Black Scorpion Dwarf Team
I would guess most of these dwarfs will have limited opportunity for areas of breakage even if they are resin. Perhaps the odd horn, but everything else looks pretty compact and chunky.

How dare you not remember me!!! (Shakes Fist!!)
I just have a good memory for faces, and seeing as i've played thads a fair few times on fumbbl he has stuck in my brain (oh the horror)
Any ways my memory can't be that great seeing as i'm sure you had a custom death roller .... maybe it was an apo (something is rattling about that it may have been in the style of an NFL style stretcher wagon ... thing)
