Bases: Round or square does it make a difference?

i say round. i had about 15 big guys on square bases from waaaay back in the 80's. it was no fun switching them to 40mm round bases. but it does look better.

What do you guys think about 8-shaped bases such as the one 1 used for my Morg, solves most of your space issues on the board. I did this for my Treeman as well, but can't seem to find a picture quickly.

Is it two smaller bases connected somehow? Interesting....
