There are two issues for me here. Firstly, the product itself is a great idea (I too hate weapon snips), but I feel that it has been poorly executed (from what I can see on the website and reading on forums). Secondly, and partly linked to the first, the pictures on the website give me no indication as to what the conversion hands, etc LOOK like so that I can make a decision as to whether they would be suitable for my purposes. Certainly I can see that they are hands, but beyond that I can see no real detail.
To improve sales take up you MUST have good quality, large pictures of each product and that product needs to be good quality to compete with the likes of the other mini manufacturers.
Hope these comments can help you guys move Impact! forwards!!
Agreed, the human conversion spruce is not a fantastic sculpt and the pictures don’t do it any favours. The arm spruce with normal and catcher hands is better but would benefit from being split to just catcher or just normal hands. The mutation spruce suffers the same issue in that you are stuck with a load of mutations you will never use. I do really like the shoulder pads though.
When converting team from fantasy or sci-fi models the hardest part is finding suitable hands for them, as often weapon snips look terrible. So a selection of normal, thrower, and catcher hands would be fantastic as would some helmeted heads and a variety of shoulder pads.
The difficulty is that we have such a diversity of sizes within the BB range and model scales vary across the different manufacturers. Assuming the models were all the same scale you’d need quite a few spruces to cover all the races. Off the top of my head I can think of:
Small – stunties
Normal – human, norse
Slim – all 4 elf teams and amazons or female humans/norse
Large – dwarf, Orc, chaos warriors
Monster – Big guys
If you just went for gloves or gauntlets then you could cover most of the races, but trying to factor in bare hands would need scaled versions (possibly with only 4 fingers) for lizardmen/slaan, talons for Orcs, and goblins, decayed for zombies, bone for skeletons and furred for beastmen and skaven.
