I'm pretty new to these forums and I have to admit, I haven't played BB in quite a while now.
I really enjoyed seeing all these wonderful teams and though I've never been a good painter myself, I still wanna share some of my teams with you.

NORSE - Middenheim Devastators

These have (obviously) been converted from WHFB Chaos Barbarians.
I just love converted teams!
The two guys on the far left and right stand in for the Ulfs because I never got some decent looking Werebears.
And since I don't have people to play with, it doesn't matter anyway.

CHAOS DWARVES - Beloved of Khorne
Image

Again converted from WHFB Chaos.
Dwarves are just Chaos Warriors with shortened legs.
Centaurs are horses with Warrior torsos instead of heads.
Hobgoblins are just Night Goblins.

Hope you enjoyed them, maybe I'll take some more pics some time.

Oh, and please ignore any mistakes, I'm not a native english speaker.

After forgiving you for playing Norse, I must say the conversions are quite nice, very dynamic and the Ulfs are excellent substitutes....

I especially like the skin work.... Human skin is always trouble for me.... The footballs... well....

Overall very nice work! Hope you find opponents soon....

Let me guess...
Somehow I got a feeling you don't like the Norsca.
Dunno why...

You probably like the skinwork because you can't see it properly.
On skin, I mostly do some very "dirty" drybrushing.
Dark base, lighter brushing, that's it.

Concerning the footballs...
Well, turns out I'm not only an awful painter but an awful sculptor too! :D

I'm an old hobbyist with a staunch interest in game balance....

You can research my name and read my gaming manifesto if you like.....

And, if you are open minded enough, with a little paint we can turn most of those minis into undead....

Just glad you took time to share.... :D

Now, this is where we differ.
I'm not very competitive and I enjoy a terrible loss just as a glorious win, as long as my opponent was fair, good natured and the game was fun from start to end.
I don't care about winning as much as I should, I know.
I'm just playing games for fun

Some more minis:

CHAOS - Cronngoth Destroyers

Now that I see them close up in a picture, I did a very poor job of cleaning up the minis. :(
Oh well, as long as they look okay on the board... :orc:

Sorry for the double post but with this, we're through, I promise! :orc:

ORC - Moshintown Greenskins
Image
Click on the image for a larger version!

These have been converted from mostly WH40K orcs.
Orcs were my first team ever and I still like to play them to the day.
Oh, my opponent still remebers that last turn lineman-to-lineman long bomb into the endzone to win 3-2 against his high elves... :orc:
Black orcs are with faceguards, Blitzers have spiky shoulders.

WOODELF - Thassian Branchdancers
Image
Click on the image for a larger version!

I had to have one of those when I saw my trusty orcs being beaten to pulp in a tournament.
It was on one of the Bembel Bowls in Frankfurt.
But, I have to admit, I never mastered the art of playing those low AV, easy-to-break teams.
(Aside that one time when I forced a tie out of orcs with halflings! :o )

So, that's it for my painted teams.
I'm really looking forward to your opinions.

Because they came with the minis.
WHFB has square bases and it doesn't really matter, does it?

Also, we used to turn each player 180° when he has made his move, to mark him as moved.
Easier to determine the direction with square bases, but that was just a side effect.

Doesn't matter? Are you serious? This is utter blasphemy! May Nuffle curse you forever for the sin of using Square Bases! :pissed: :pissed: :pissed:

...

Seriously though, while obviously either type of base is fine, I and many others do prefer round bases for various reasons, so expect a little bit of good natured outrage coming your way! :D

Okay, hit me with your best shot!
Oh, and Nuffle already may have cursed me...
Or my dice at least! :o

By the way...
WHY do people prefer round bases?

During tabletop play, people turn their minis 180degrees when they've taken their action. In a scrum, things like corners on bases, horns or outstretched arms become a nuisance. Round is simply more easy to play with.

For me, round bases were and are simply Blood Bowl, where as square bases are WH. Round bases distinguish us from the other minis and games (that and of course our better looks ).
I mean, you wouldn't show up to an American Football match wearing a hockey outfit, would you?

Some models roll over with round bases, especially smaller stuff like goblins and snotlings. A few folks in our league have square bases for those types of player so you don't have to worry about stunned players spontaneously healing ;)

I've also seen models on hex bases. If you think square is blasphemy then just close your eyes :-D

Look at my orc team:
:o Round bases!
Why? Because they are WH40K-orcs and, guess what, come with round bases! :orc:

The square bases just assist the formation marching in WHFB, nothing else.
Madsherman wrote:During tabletop play, people turn their minis 180degrees when they've taken their action.
In an earlier post, I said just that as a reason why I like squares.
So it's just a matter of taste after all, I guess.

Good point!
Another reason to go square...

But wait... :o
Wasn't this thread about showing off teams?
So rate my teams and leave my bases alone!
