Starting to look promising. Still too much of a plate armour feeling though. They really have to stop making whfb minis with footballs in their hands to represent BB-players. As far as most teams go they really should sculpt new versions based on the 2nd ed models where everything still looked like Blood Bowl and not like the horrible 3rd ed WHFBesque minis. Blood Bowl really had some bad luck with the timing of its revival - coming in the worst quality of figures period citadel has ever had. Everything from that period looks ugly (with only a few Jes Goodwin exceptions) and the BB-figs, sadly, aren't an exception. These new figs seem to be a lot better than the 3rd ed ones but they still need to remove the "knights playing football" feel of the figs to really work.

So I'd say all teams except for wood elves are shiny knights in handsome armour playing rugby.

Really, you don't have to paint those up as metal plates, they could be hard leather...which I think would look pretty good.

[Edit] Holy crap, I should actually comment on the MINIS... Uh...the first one does have a slightly awkward looking right arm, but I'm attributing that more to the photo than anything. His left arm I'm wondering about...it can't be cast with a "gap" 'tween body and arm, so is it going to be "tucked under his chin" like the 2e Orc Blitzers? I really kind of dislike that pose (it's completely anatomically impossible, to begin with) so I hope they don't go that route...

The second is just fabulous. 8) No complaints. [/Edit]

Anything I say is totally opinion and (knowing my luck) probably completely wrong. Keep this in mind.

this is a fantasy game of elves, goblins and blobs of plague ridden goo, since when is strict anatomy that big of a deal? least not to me, i guess.

I absolutely love the new fig. I can't wait for the rest of the team. All throughout BB, I have hated the human figs. I especially hated the last set, which were just horrible looking. I think this is a nice action pose, and although armoured, perpetuates a bloodbowl look in my mind. I am excited about the rest of the team, although I know it will take a long time before thay are available for purchase.
