Improved, before he looked like an assistant coach. You have also repositioned the limp left wrist?
So far werewolf 1 is by far the best followed by ogre golem - I really like him, maybe because I like those old ogre sculpts.

Excellent - sounds like it's mission accomplished! Thanks all for the feedback and thoughts. All this means that the team is now fully ready for painting. I'm away over the weekend, but am aiming to get some decent progress early next week
And just to show them all in one place, here's a mini photo montage of the team:

Yep, that's new too - something a bit more taughtly clenchedChris wrote:You have also repositioned the limp left wrist?

Awesome job, are you planning on finishing it off with the remaining positionals?

Yeah - I'll do a 2nd Flesh Golem and increase the squad size to the full 16 with some additional zombies. I fancy a zombie kicker, and perhaps a zombie dirty player in addition to the 'normal' zombiesTalonBay wrote:Awesome job, are you planning on finishing it off with the remaining positionals?

Re: The Necromantic Road to NAF (now with Wights & Flesh Gol
Thanks guys
We can kind of call this a mini update as I've got tonight free to do some painting. It takes me much less time to do the converting and I happen to enjoy that part more...
Which is why I have more zombies to show you:

One of my mates informed me that I'd need a 5th zombie for NAF just on the off chance of asuccessful in game 'raise the dead' roll. I also discovered I had the bits to make a cool zombie dirty player for future league play.
The chap on the right is a very simple partial head swap - I cut off the original head, replaced the face with a plastic zombie and then resculpted the sides and back of the helmet. I picked this guy up already with repositioned arms which make him look like he's lunging forward. I also removed one of the helmet spikes just to give the helmet a different look.
The dirty player (left and right views) was based on the pose of one of the 2nd ed Orc kickers. I took one of the spare legs from a human catcher from a previous conversion. I cut away the zombie right leg, repositioned the right, then repostioned both arms and the head. This time to make the helmet different I added a face guard, removed all 3 spikes and sculpted a new visor/plate.
I'm amazed at how flexible this one 1st ed zombie has been to convert with relatively minor changes. I now have 5 different versions of him, and bar the dirty player it's all been very straightforward. I wish I'd looked at using them years ago!
I really do hope to have some painted figures to show you tomorrow

Awesome team. Look forward to the painting phase, even if I enjoy the conversion phase more on my own teams.
I agree that it's a lot faster and sometimes more rewarding too.

Re: The Necromantic Road to NAF (now more Zombies inc DP)
While I didn't manage to make as much progress as I would have liked last night, I DID manage to put paint to lead and now have 2 finished zombies ready for a spray of varnish:

Taking the feedback from the test scheme I've painted the shirts black and added some stripes to the helmet. I'm not the world's best painter, but I hope these will do the job!

Re: The Necromantic Road to NAF (now with 2 painted Zombies!
Looks way better! Nice paint job.
IMHO the skin disappears a little or looks unfinished due to to the white colour scale. I think you could work miracles with a flesh wash (although try it on an unfinished model first

Re: The Necromantic Road to NAF (now with 2 painted Zombies!
I'll blame that on over exposure on the photo (or my poor photography skills!). The skin has had 5 thinned washes of purple and one of green and looks good in real life. There's also a lot more contrast between the black cloth and pale skin. You'll just have to trust me that it looks fine in real life and I really don't want to add another darker washel Superbeasto wrote:Looks way better! Nice paint job.
