2nd edition chaos dwarfs and hobgoblin replacements

So, I'm building a CD team where I will use 2ed chaos dwarfs... I'm not really able to decide on what to use for hobbos though. These are the alternatives:

* Undead ghouls - from the Vampire Counts army... some of them look pretty good. Not too beefed up, and I _think they'll paint up well to not look undead.
* Ungor skirmishers - well... classic choice, isn't it?
* Gnoblars - my favourite choice, but not available yet. =(

Which one do you guys think?

I've also been toying with the idea of getting a regiment box of beastmen. I'd get 8 ungor and 12 gor. I could very well use the beastmen for a chaos team, but am more tempted to use old old WHFB beastmen for that. Also, I'm afraid of the new beastmen would look bulkier than my 2nd edition plastic humans which I intend on using as chaos warriors.

Bah... decisions decisions... I think I'll go for the ghoulies, actually... I like them. With some greenstuffed pads, straps and bits they'll look pretty cool I believe. Haven't heard of anyone using them either.

My 2nd ed Chaos Dwarf team uses 2nd ed Orcs as Hobgoblins

click on my www-button, than "Tribune"

Alternatively you could use 1st ed Orcs, but those are harder to hunt down (and more expensive)

I got Centigors and a regiment of beastmen to go with my 2e CD team, but I haven't painted them yet so it's all still subject to change. The ungors would look really cool if you can table this project and work on another...

Yeah, I've seen your team Narkotic... look excellent! Problem (not really a problem) is that I'm using those orcs in my orc team. Don't want to confuse my mates with what the hell I'm fielding. :D Also, I have only two of them left...

You mean my CD headcoach? That's a 80s WFB Chaos Dwarf, from the Chaos Dwarf Renegades Boxed Set. I removed the axe-blade to make him look like leaning on a walkinjg stick.

Djengis, there's a thread about it in the general spam section... look it up. There's one more pic.

I think I'll go with the vampire count ghouls really... Will have to order a few and just check them out.

Phreedh,

If you want some 2ed orcs - i have a whole waiting to go (I have somehow acquired 3 orc teams). They are 'mycket bra' (is that right?).
Anyhow, if they're of interest PM me.

Cheers

Leip  :o

Thanks alot for the offer, Leipziger... and you got the "mycket bra" right... heh, you're the second non swedish speaking bb-person saying this to me today. Odd! :)

I think I'll pass on the orcs though... Everybody would think "orcs?" when they saw them... I even got flak today for making a dwarf team from 2ed dwarves. My mates liked the chaos dwarves though, but couldn't understand why I'd use "not hobgoblins" for hobgoblins. :)
