The minis are from the "Metal Magic" line of a german producer called "Hobby Products". They dropped their fantasy/SF/historical lines about 10 years ago. Now they sell only fantasy miniatures for a german roleplaying system called "Das Schwarze Auge" ("Mystery of Arcana" or something like that in english - but it seems like it never got popular outside germany).

They got 5 Astérix lines with about 10 different minis each (Gauls, Romans, Britons, Pirates and some Egypts).
There are 5 different Football players in the british line.
Minis were sold at about 2 Euro (3,95 DM), but remember this was 10 years ago. They are rarely seen on ebay germany - maybe 1-2 times/year.
Scale is 28mm.

That could be very fun. I know I saw an Asterix and Obelix mini on the forum here months ago that would tie in nicely.

They look like the rugby players from the game in "Asterix in Britain".
