Phigs New Multipart Humans

Post by Abator »

So, has anyone started putting these guys together yet. I got mine last week and have 5 of them done so far.

I have a few concerns to date. First, believe it or not, the lack of arm posistions is driving me nuts. All the skill arms are righties. I wanted to make a catcher with two outstretched hands and basically have to make my own left hand.

Another concern is going to be how to distinguish the blitzers from the blockers.

The last thing is the metal used is extremely fragile when bending.

Anyways, I'm not trying to say that these suck or anything. I love them and want to do them justice. I'm just curious to see if anyone else has found these issues or if it's just me.

If they're humans you don't have to worry about distinguishing between Blitzers and Blockers as there are no blockers on a human team. But to distinguish player positions that might not be totally obvious at first glance, use coloured base rings (if not the whole base ring, then colour the part that the number is painted on or the number itself, if you do paint the numbers on the base ring).

Blockers, Linesmen, same difference.

Anyways, I was thinking of possibly adding spikes or something to the shoulder pads for the blitzers.

No, you are correct, Linemen should be Blockers as linemen are the biggest and toughest players in football, the Linemen in BB are basically unskilled average benchwarmers who have to come in as back-up when someone's hurt (or act as cannon-fodder for BGs).
That was the only thing I didn't like about BB when I first got it (back in 2ed, when humans did have blockers) is that the linemen seemed wrong and out of place for a football team.

So has anyone got any of these guys painted yet? Even assembled in a variety of different poses? If so sling a couple of pics this way...

I'm really jealous of you guys who have them as I just finished reading a thread elsewhere discussing sprues of FF pads / heads / hands with balls which reminded me to look at the site ( http://www.phigsminiatures.com :D ) and I would love to see what these guys look like all 'spruced up'! :)

I'm very 'financially restricted' at the moment (read 'dead broke' ) so I can't really afford to place an order as when I do I want to order a bunch of cool bits....

Anyone/any pics?

I'm also curious what these multi part humans looks like all built and painted. Would be nice to see some pics. Surprised that Phigs doesn't have a gallery for them.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
