Buying paints, brushes etc. in UK

Post by ILDam »

Hello.

I want to buy the following, but can't find a good online shop in the UK to sell them to me! I've found most of this stuff on separate sites, but delivery is expensive that way.

Sable brushes (say size 2, 0, 000)
Vallejo Game colours
spray on primer
glue
spray varnish

Alternatively, is there a real shop in London where I can buy it all!?

I'd also like to get one of those doughnut shaped desk lights with a magnifing glass in the middle. Any suggestions?

Cheers

leisure games is probably your best bet. based somewhere in london, the website will have details. www.leisuregames.co.uk

failing that try gamers-quest.co.uk for the paints and brushes or the ecbbl lads like dwarf coach, jjb, al the trowel or doubleskulls should be able to help.

Thanks Git.

The leisuregames.com site is cool - love the sound of some of the games there! Sadly they don't sell all the bits I need

I'll keep searching.

In London you can get Vallejo paints from Model Zone (used to be Beatties) just down from Holborn Tube - not sure if it is the Game colour range or the Model Colour, but it's a start.

Ditto for the Vallejo primer (or go to GW Plaza on Oxford St for Chaos Black/ Skull White primer cans)

Glue - any model/ toy shop, or GW Plaza, or Model Zone, or Orcs Nest just off Cambridge Circus, opposit Fopp.

Spray Varnish - GW again or Model Zone for the Vallejo one.

Brushes - any artists supplies shop - there's a million of them (well lots anyway).

I've found a magnifying desk light in an elektronik shop ("Conrad", for interested germans). They range from 30 € to 150 €. Conrad will not be present in London, but I think, electronic tinkerer in England will need a close look to their work, too.

Thanks for your suggestions all.

I ended up using...
http://www.buchancollect.com/ for brushes & Vallejo Game Colours. They seem to be closing down though so had sold out of some colours.
http://www.modelsforsale.com/ for Vallejo spray primers, varnishes & Model colours as well as glue and misc tools. They don't sell the Vallejo Game Colours.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/ for the 3 Vallejo Game Colours I wanted that Buchan had sold out of. Too expensive if ordering more than a few colours.
http://www.lighting-direct.co.uk/ for a £30 magnifying desk lamp.
