Hi there!
For the first time in years, I actually managed to finish a mini completely, and I thought I would share him with you guys!
Please bear with me, I never painted skaven before, so this was my first go at it, but I'm pretty pleased myself.

Please enjoy

And then I just couldn't resist putting a smileyface on his gutplate :D

Please tell me what you think

I think you ruined him with the smiley face, but great job with the brush!

I disagree. I love the smiley face! My only suggestion would to go over the fur with a very very watered down black ink, to get some more of the detail out. Beautiful fig!

The smiley is funny.
You should also highlight the reds and the yellow just a little bit more.
Cool looking mini and a nice base.

The smiley is ok IMHO, nice paintjob. You could have considered to paint a black atomic sign (3 triangles) on the yellow belt though (watch out mutation!)

Oh for sure... a radiation sign would rock!!
Smiley face made me laugh though... so its good too.
I agree that you should do a wash over the fur. The drybrushing is too pronounced... perhaps another highlight on the red as well. Great job though! The base is well done!

Not keen on the smiley but nice work, always thought that fig was made for BB.

First, thx to all of you! I can't wait to get the rest of the team finished ... although this might take some time :D
Secondly, I'll try and answer some of your comments.
I actually tried doing something to the fur several times, but as the sculpt is so absolutely horrible, all effort was lost. I washed it, I went over it very gently with almost no paint on my brush, and I even tried painting detail on ... but all of it turned out like shit, so I finally settled for this one.
I know that the highligts seem very subtle, but actually they stand out just a little more IRL. I wont defend it though, as this is just my style (coming from DK, most of us paint in earthtones and with subtle highlighting), but perhaps it should have had a little more ... I'm satisfied though :D
I thought about putting on a radiation sign too, but i settled for the smiley as I couldn't stop laughing at the thought of a giant rat beating people to a pulp while they stare at his gutplate in awe.

And Sean, I don't remember when I started to play BB (but it's quite a while ago), but I've been hooked on GW since Rogue Trader. I have finished other minis (and teams/armies) before, but only few of them to this standard, and much of it not even worth showing ... but that's hopefully gonna change now. But I'm a very slow painter, and I've got loads of other stuff to see too as well ... but I'll try to improve :D

Hope to post some more pics soon

Not bad painting for a guy from Ærø I would say ;)

looks great! I'm with you on the shading, leave it alone. I allways thought people went too far with the highlights. I prefer a more subtle, more realistic effect.

Great job,
For you comic book fans out there...you could add a drop of dripping blood on the forehead of the smiley ala. "Watchmen" :D :P

I think smiley gives him a little character  although may be better suited to a goblin or orc....(It is hard to resist a yellow circle though without thinking 'ACID')

I know what you are sayig ref the detail on the fur but Chairfaces suggestion of a light wash gould wour - if only to define the more muscular area's such as chest & bicepts.

I live the face though and the base is very good...Well done!
