I am about to paint a complete set of referees, including measuring crew.

By now I finished the Referee and two Linesmen:

nice stuff. You can never have too many refs in BB

Well... I'm not sure.

I got the Goblin Ref by Shadowforge and will buy the Gobin Ref by Goblin Forge. Oerhaps after these the Boris Ref...

I'll try to convert the measuring crew of Warhammer-Minis for use as turn markers. But I'm not sure, which ti use...

How do you people paint eyes so good. With me they look like either a big black birdshit in the eye or I paint the rest of the face with it.

I painted these eyes here with a very thin brush and a very steady hand.

But there's another alternative. A quiet easier way:
I painted the eyes of these orcs (http://www.talkbloodbowl.com/phpBB2/vie ... hp?t=15549) with a very, very thin ink pen (a tip of 0.25mm in diameter).
I'll probably do all my miniatures eyes with this pen in future. Most of all it's easier to make the minis "look" in a special way. With a brush it's rather by random, how and whereto the mini looks.

Well,
Eyes take some practice. I use 18/0-20/0 spotters, but a 10/0 spotter can work with a steady hand. The trick for me is to...
1. Ink wash the eye sockets-black, brown or blue
2. Then you don't paint the black eyeball, you paint two small triangle dots at the corner of the eyes.
3. If white dots come out too big just go back with really thin black and touch up. The best results will have NO White directly against the skin. The eye will be predominantly black with very little white & outlined by black at the skin.

Yes... that's the way I painted eyes before I experienced the pen.


For me it seems easier with the pen because you don't need the steadiness you need using brushes...

However... Suum cuique.
