The heading says it all really, I'm painting up my second edition skaven team for the BB and would like to convert a GR so that I have three different ones in the team. Has anyone had any luck doing this before? Any tips/ideas/pictures would be gratefully recieved.

I recommend getting a sprue from the Mordheim plastic Skaven. They have GR capes (2 each sprue) that can be used to make an easy conversion. You can also do a head swap if you feel the need. Then use the rest for coaching staff and cheerleaders (green stuff pom poms).

That 2 head conversion might just do it. It looks pretty easy to do. I was thinking about putting the oven gloves onto a thrower's pointing arm (I've got a couple of spares) and thenpinning the arm onto a GR body. And possibly cutting him in half and rotating the body around a bit.
The mordheim guys are just a bit 'fat' for this - so I'm limited to using old 2e skaven (they don't wear cloaks) for the conversion. Thanks for the idea though.
Any other suggestions?

Dont cut up 2e skavens to use as parts!
Just experiment with greenstuff to add to the one you want to convert
There aren't enough 2e skaven in the world IMHO

Not enough 2e rats... You may well be right but there are about 35 in my figure collection - somehow I managed to buy a team piecemeal and then 'accidentally' won a complete team on ebay... So once the chopping is done there will still be a world of spares...

no digi camera sorry....
i have converted a dead simple champion converted on top of page
http://www.solegends.com/citcat89winter ... 11x-01.htm
Not mega but can be similar style to the second ed catcher. too be honest as Phils conversion shows it hard to reposition the head or pose due to the stance. baring a head swap cant imagine much conversion possibility. i just used another fig
similar idea the old star rasta could make another different gutter runner

That champion looks like a great choice for a conversion. If only I had one! Is he the right size to fit in with the 2e team?
Now, I've got different worries - my albino team, the Vanilla Mice, are turning out more grey than albino

- pure white just looks unpainted from more than 5cm away...
Well, back to the pain station.

yeah same height and proportions.
looking at mine again i posted a link for the wrong champ

mine has a hook hand; but there were 3 different ones. All from "command packs" ifrc. would recomend it as a very good option.

painting albino is kinda tricky. i did try it years ago on some thugs but the hard bit is the eyes... need to be convincing and was hard not too look like a cartoon. not sure but if in doubt consult a natural history book, maybe polar bear or something may give another clue.
{Mad idea would be to base them blue and overpaint white with a few grey washes. - Unless felling Golden demon standard i would say dont even try it as the vein and ligament for a skaven are under fur - maybe even use mix media for pigment stretch ie watercolour; might as well try for new pope as would be more likely}

Hmmm... thought about pale blue as an undercoat but bottled it and went for grey. Today the next two rats go under the brush and I'm thinking about using a very very pale grey this time. Problem is that at arm's length the shading probably won't show up. So maybe it'll be a team of grey rats rather than albinos...
I'll start looking on ebay for those champions...

good effort on the grey, keep it simple and you wont be disappointed.
