Need suggestions for conversion

Post by Chairface »

Hey guys. I picked up this fig from Reaper

Image

This is a great Bloodbowl mummy. The shoulder pads are perfect for Fantasy footbal. While I might personally add some knee pads, the fig needs very little work. Except for the arms. They have to be changed. What would you guys suggest for the arms? I was thinking Chaos Warrior arms, but That might take away from the Khemri look of the fig..... I was also thinking skeleton arms, but it looks out of place. GW does have some Khemri arms, but all left arms..... Damn! Any suggestions? Theres got to be something that I haven't thought about. I'm actually thinking about doing up four versions of this guy if I can find the right combination.

Most Mummy's are one piece. There are a few GW Tomb Kings figures that have seperate arms, but as I noted above, they have left arms and no right.

just what I was going to suggest after reading the 1st post

you can roll gs into thin sheets, then cut it into strips and wrap your own mummy arms based on plastic skeleton arms

Skeleton arms would look too small for this guy imo.
I would suggest Ramtut´s arms or, for a cheaper and easy conversion, the ones of a Hero Quest mummy.

I thought about that. You don't think its too much? Unatural looking? (Which is perhaps the most retarded thing that I've ever written - like a mummy is natural... :D )

how about the smaller hand from the 40k two handed mutations covered with a draped gs cloth, so you just see the tips of the fingers to give a slight menacing look (kinda like a hood for the hand, you only see the furthes points). other hands may look better but i have limited knowledge of the range.

erm? did that make any sense?

All the suggestions would obviously work. As for hands, you could just use gloves/gauntlets? Easier than trying to find perfect hands.

The choice is clear. Just greenstuff some oven mittens on him and tell everyone he's a catcher.

You could try WH plastic zombie arms and then add some green stuff bandages. One zombie sprue comes with lots of good arms.

Lots of good suggestions! Thanks to everyone. I'll be making a trip to my friends place and raid his impressive bitzbox. I'm leaning towards skeleton arms, but there are lots of good alternatives.
