German Gamesday 2005 without BB category...

I just thought, it could be interesting for some TBBs Painters out there, thinking about bringing a BB team for this paint competion at the German GD 2005. ( Like i did ! )

From the GW GD2005 website (sorry, german language only):
http://www.games-workshop.de/home/veran ... demon.shtm
Rough translation... no more BB and LOTR category from now because of international standards of GDs all over the world.

So i´m lucky i got one of the 6 demons given away the last 2 years for BB teams :D Pity, there is no inscription on mine, for what i got him.

Hm, so i have to think, what i will do and paint next for this event... still it should be BB related... there will be just the Open-Category or the "Duell"-Category left now.

BTW... anyone coming ? I ordered my ticket already.

Can't you enter a BB team in "Warhammer regiment"? or "Battlescene"?
Sounds like GW shooting themselves in the foot. As usual.

I know at GamesDay LA, the rules specifically said that Blood Bowl and Mordheim entries were acceptable in Warhammer Fantasy categories, and Necromunda was OK in Warhammer 40K. I was actually considering -- and had begun acquiring bitz for -- a Blood Bowl team entry into the Warhammer Fantasy Regiment category there... that is, before I broke my wrist, couldn't paint or model, and skipped GDLA altogether. But looking on the bright side, I just figure that now I've got on early start on next year. :)

I'd recommend the WFB regiment category too, not open category. I think last years UK bronze for regiments went to a Delf BB team.

(Edit: Chris Blair's gorgeous Dark elf team. People who were at the 2004 BB will have seen it as one of the best paint nominees. - Thads)

Down side is you prolly won't get Gold for a BB team in the regiment category I suppose...

I'd recommend the WFB regiment category
If GW accepts this, it will be better than the OpenCategory for sure ! :)

Yep it's the same in France. If you want to show a BB team, you have to suscribe in the Warhammer Regiment category.

That sucks Traveller! Sorry to hear it. Has it been almost a year since your magnificent Orc Thrower was entered? Time flies....

Time flies....
Yes, very true... and this year happend a lot... and it´s not over yet
I can't wait!
Sorry, but you have to wait a bit longer... but, after ending moving house next weekend, i will get a lot more time for things to do what I want to do...

- After the frustrating ogre team playing with in my league i maybe will paint now first the new GW Humans for the tournament games. Not much to convert on the the players, but still a lot support stuff to change...
- Maybe a nice Duell scenario for the GD ? But just 2 months left... i dont think i can made it in time ?!
- But still there is a project about a homemade pitch and a table in my mind...

Don't worry Trav, anything you produce is always a enjoyment to see on the forum.

You could always do a "battle scene" for the duel category...

griff vs varag ....and put a title on the base with some cool description.

 I have to paint those 5 ed minis, too, you mean ?
Actualy i was thinking about a battlescene using a larger scale like the size i did with my BigBBThrower. But that takes a lot of time, just searching the parts to convert and all the greenstuffing... at last not time enough until end of August. But i will check Forgeworld now...

U know...you could always do more than one entry :)

battlescene for duel entry,

team for regiment entry,

and a single mini for warhammer entry.....Increase your odds :)

That was my original GDLA plan, for the team entry in Fantasy Regiment and a Duel entry as well, but then I came up with an idea for a 40K Duel scene instead. Now that I've got 10 months to do it all, I'll do the team and I might do both the 40K scene and a Blood Bowl scene, putting one in the Duel category and one in the Open; Fantasy single is now an option, as well. Decisions, decisions... at least I've got plenty of time! ;)

just start on this stuff for next years GD!!!!!!!! :P :P :P :P
that is a real must have !!

for a nice "quick dual battle scene" I've thoughtsince I fisrt saw her:
zara running away for the new deathroller and a death human already under the deathroller.. would be quite cool I think.. and not to much conversions.. only building scenery stuff and painting so a bit quick.

but whatever you do i'm sure it will be great !! as usual !!
