if you want to convert a bb team a regiment box set of warhammer is quite good to start with!
the parts are plastic so you can convert them fairly easy, just weapon snip and ad some shoulder pads, make some cool poses and you've got yourself a quite cool team.
to create a whole team out of putty or greenstuff will take a lot of practise and is very hard ! (I'm currently trying that stuff and it's realy hard to make a decent model! )
so I advise you to convert a team out of warhammer plastics, hope it helps a bit!!
lots of people made a team out of warhammer plastics, so did I!

I made my own out of greenstuff.
I know they aren't the best but they look quite cool on my gobos:
also the shoulder pad on the troll on the right I made out of brownstuff (sort of greenstuff) and also the kneepads and shoulderpads are made out of greenstuff:
here at the uk online gw shop a search on "shoulder":
http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront ... WCE=Search
gives you quite some shoulder pads but buying 16 of them might become a bit expensive.
I heard people talk about the "marauder sprue" shoulderpads which should be quite good but then you should buy a whole marauder box.
What team do you want to convert actualy??

Djengis, can you tell me if the Troll on the right is a Blood Bowl figure? If not any idea where I can pick one up?
Thanks,
Dino

its a conversion of a stonetroll:
http://uk.games-workshop.com/storefront ... orignav=13
I cut away the stoneaxe, and turned the hand. I made a shoulderpad and a kneepad out of brownstuff.
if you scroll down the GW page I gave you can also see other stonetrolls which are cool to convert !

It depends. What plastics do you already have sitting around? Some Khemri skeletons? Do up a Khemri team. Some Dark Eldar plastics? Do up a dark elf team. There are some really nice plastics out there. Lizardmen! There you go, do a LM team!
erm i have no idea i have only space marines spures at home

I'd like to help but I have no clue how the space marine parts look.
try to find some pics and I think everyone can help you better.
most of the time I don't realy make a "design" just pick the parts I like and then put them on with a bit of greenstuff temporely and try some different poses and stuff.
some important things which you can use on almost every conversion are:
* when you remove a weapon out of a hand: drill or cut a little hole in the first so the suface of the hand isn't flat. Else will it will be imidiately visible that you removed a weapon.
* sometimes twist the wrist a bit like I did with the hand of my troll the it won't look like it has ever been holding something!!
if you need more tips please try to be more specific in your questions as they are now a bit vage I think.
and you should "design" your own team for the bigset part I think. Just do what you like and which poses YOU like thats the most important!!!
!

I would aoid making a space marine team. Unless you make some major conversions it would be pretty hard.
Ok, help us out a bit. What teams would you like to play? And then we'll tell you about ways to make them! Otherwise its just like trying to guess at what you want.

creation is 5% inspiration, 95 % perspiration...
why not try chaos dwarfs they mostly suck and need fresh ideas. - or maybe high elf as they have NEVER looked good.
as i have already said
