Slann converted from Kroot

Post by Pitch Invader »

I'm a big fan of the Roll Jordon frogs (guess they are Greebo now? I'm such a Luddite, hard to keep up). Nevertheless, I am really happy with these kroot based slann. They were a lot of fun to work on, cutting up legs & such for more dynamic poses for the possitionals.

Image

Linefrogs were given more static 'obstructing' poses, and painted to be like garden frogs: your average slann
Image

Blitzers were painted like a red exotic frog and given more expressive poses, to try to look like they're going for an attack
Image

Catchers were painted like a blue exotic frog- I tried their back spots, didn't like it, so went without, and tried for the most dynamic poses of diving catches & such
Image

Krox seemed perfect for his size & prehensile tongue, and custom tokens of course, which I enjoy making. My hobby blog has a post about different tokens, just for fun- link in signature.

I am not happy with the photos.. maybe it's the background that threw it off, getting reflections, something, but I think they came out looking much better in real life.. ah well.

Remindes me of the teenage mutant nippon kappas... not a fan of the kroot (that's not you just my hatred for the most pointless creatures in the 40k universe) but I absolutly love your efforts on the swamp troll and re-roll counters. The basing is also stunning.
Can you give us a guide on how you made the dragonflys?

Love the look of the team very original. The old comic Fish Police comes to mind and I don't know why.

I think the catchers and the Big Guy are my favorites.

Great use of the Kroots.

The basing effects are phenomenal, and I especially like the use of the 'netting' on the Krox.

Well done!

I have been looking and bookmarking interesting teams as I have not kept up over the last few years. Big bump but I think these are the best Slann I have seen. I also like the kroot frame and head so might so something similar. Cheers

I really like the poses of those Catchers. Well done.

I even more like the link to the pics of those TMNK, never seen those before.
