My Dark elf team worklog *Updated*

Hey all, i recently started BB again when the computer game came out, Ive played blood bowl for many years before that, and coached many different teams, but playing the computer game opened my eyes to the Dark elf team :) and the awsomeness of it, I really love the way they look in the PC version, Ive never been a fan of the old models, they look too generic to me and not lethal enough.

So with that in mind, i started to take screenshots from the game, and look through different miniature websites to try and find bits and pieces i could stick together to make models that would appeal to what I thought would be an awsome and lethat dark elf team.

My first model was the Blitzer as he was the most striking figure from the game.

This was my inspiration

and this is what i came up with

Image

I know the picture is not the best quality but it was the best i could do :)

I hope you can get an idear of what im going for.

As for the rest of the team, im trying to get a couple of the limited print dark elf runner models that Frank was advertising.
Witch elves i will use the metal ones from fantasy with weapon snips, might convert the hands if they have too much "handle-hands" going on.
Assassins, well assassin as i will proberly only want one, i will use the metal one from fantasy in the runing pose as its more or less spot on for the look from the game.

My big problem is lineelves.. what to do ?

Ive considered using dark elf spearmen torso's so they dont look as bulky as the blitzers, and the legs from corsairs, but i cant seem to get the same "Ka-zaam-damn" feeling im getting when i look at my blitzer model (which i think is AWSOME :))
Ive tried converting some dark elf heads to give them a "spiked ridge" to look a little more like in the game, but spikes that small are very hard to get to look good, either they are too big, or so small that you cant really work with them, either way i need something that i can make up to 6-7 models off.

Im fresh out of idears, anyone wanna help brainstorm with me ?

Cheers for reading.

Thoughts on lineelves.

They are same armor value as blitzers so they could use the same armor (cold one knight bodies) which looks awsome imo, but i also want players that are easely recognizable for their positions.
One idear could be to use cold one knight toros, corsair legs with dark eldar warrior spikey boots (as on the blitzer) and dark elf warrior spearmen heads shaped more round as football helmets, and either no or small shoulder blades, and some regular arms again without spikes, maybee snip some hands from the GW dark elf team since i dont like the hands clutching weapon shafts.

Question though, isent the dark elf model range's hands disproportionally BIG compared to what they are making now a days?

Cheers

Bits list for 1 blitzer:
Dark elf warrior head, with plume cut from Eldar dire avenger head
Dark elf cold one knight body, with shoulder spikes from Dark eldar warrior body
Dark eldar wych Hydragloves (i think they are called) for arms
Dark elf corsair legs, with boots from Dark eldar warriors cut above the knee

and greenstuff :)

The picture dosent show the arms very well, they are both bent in a "im-about-to-hurt-you" kind of pose.
Ill get some better pictures and some angle shots when i get home from work.

What a difference the crest makes. Until the close up I kept thinking: what Warrior head does he mean.

Good concept and good implementation. Never thought of mixing the legs from the corsairs (with their silly boots) with armored boots. Great idea. I will steal it.

Kinda reminds me of beldar conehead.

On a serious note this guys isn't so spiky. I realize DE are exactly that but it's never been my preference. This is a good balance imo.
