Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
A forum for football mini's talk.......painting, converting etc. etc. or showing off great accessories that make playing the game easier, cooler or more fun.
Is it just me or do some of those heads look a little 'GW-ish'? I'm particularly looking at the first one and the one that appears to be a Black Orc helmet.

not just you, the hands that go with the black orc helmet look like gw black orc hands opened out a bit.
Almost a direct copy of the GW plastics - the first two heads are copies of a boar rider head and a 40k nob (?) head respectively. They're not bad looking though, especially for someone who doesn't want to take the time to convert but I think I would would choose the latter over these.

These sculpts aren't anything that special. There not bad, but I am not excited by them at all. Maybe seeing them painted will give them a little more life, but how many orc options do we already have out there?
They seem to be sufrering from orangutan proportions.
The sculpts are nice but yea, if these were painted up I would have assumed they were kit bashed.
Shoulder pads are a tad off as well, still better than the GW and gaspez teams though. Greebo and neomics would still win my money on the orc front.
To be quite honest, I'd consider buying some of these, though probably not all. Thrower 1 I'd take, and blitzers 1 and 4 I'd take two each of, as I'd take two each of the linemen. The BOrcs, Thrower 2 and Blitzers 2 and 3 do absolutely nothing for me - I'd get in some plastic orc heads and some plastic black orcs to fill the roster out and add variety to the diplicate figs and fill the roster out instead. I agree they're probably sailing a bit close to the wind with GW's IP, but on the plus side it makes swapping in some normal orc heads, and black orcs from the GW set, pretty straightforward.
If they sell as individual figures, I'll consider buying a bunch, but if only as a set, I'll sadly steer clear. Best indie orcs I've seen, but agree that it's not really necessary given (a) the convertability of the plastics and (b) the variety of competing minis already available.

all models are sculped from other miniatures of him, they are not conversion of any kind of GW models,
100 % original work but influencied by GW standards
he will sell each model alone and as a set/team
he's considering to sell the heads and shoulder pads as a complement
BO, or defenders as the autor names them, have long arms on purpose to seem simian.
he announcied to show them painted by RN studio as sson as possible.
Half or these miniatures are "copy" of GW (possibly full sculpt, but...copy), from the head or from the arms (cf black orc). Some are pretty beautiful, but GW won't appreciate this "hommage".
I think they look cool and would be perfect for more "funny" themed Orc teams.
Also in regards to how many Orc team options.... I think it makes sense to have a ton of models to choose from. Orcs are the most popular team (in my experience)
