My first painted mini, after more than 15 years playing BB

Post by cyagen »

Hi,

As a disclaimer, I do not have any artistic talent, I can't draw to save my life.

This was my first mini painted as a test for my cheap chaos team.

I used cheap hobby paint, brushes and it took me forever, but the result in a success, since it is better than the minis painted by Traveller's son.....

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

To answer the question why didn't I paint: because I wanted to play and the time I painted meant that I was not playing....

I got to give credit to the people that posted painting tips on this forum. This allowed me to make the most of my meager talent.

Thanks for the compliments, now on to the second....

Dude, that's a good mini by any standard, first or not. Great to see you embrace another aspect of the hobby. Keep it up!

I started playing Blood Bowl in -94 and didn't get around to painting until 2009, so I also played for 15 years until I started painting. And like you I can't draw a straight line or a circle. My 5-year old daughter has already realised she's better at drawing than I'll ever be.

I still got into painting figs and like it a lot. I've got links to some of my teams in my painting blog. All of my figs aren't there yet, I'll post more pics later. viewtopic.php?f=23&t=32054

Nice. Very impressive to see a respected long term player trying the hobby side

Keep it up. Can I recommend you also get a 'cool' star player fig you like and paint that also. Painting an inspiring great fig can be more fun and more challenging. It's a good way to up your efforts but without much risk.
