Underworld, Neomics Goblins, Skaven?

Post by Jeremiah Kool »

I want to get an Underworld team, the Goblins will be Neomics. I don´t want to get GW Skaven, at least not the third edition ones. Second edition are harder to get and I fear they won´t mesh that good with the Goblins. I may be wrong in this.

I have looked at the Gaspez Arts Rats and apart from the GR´s they seem good (GRs are good, too, but I don´t like those strange "feet" they have, the other positions don´t seem to have that). I like the mutating ones, but I don´t like that dynamic Thrower.

The Impact rats are nice but not to my liking as Underworld skaven. The tails seem very long, too, won´t they get in the way?

I have quite the same problem (goblin from goblin forge, troll from heresy). I choose rats from impact miniatures, and i 'll change a little bit the minis.

Impact skaven are excellent, highly recommended. Gaspez rats are disappointing to say the least, there's also some greebo (Roll jordan) ratmen out there for people that look hard enough.

Greebo I don´t like either. :)

Impact ones, what about those tails? Not too long to get in the way on the board? Those "mice" skaven also don´t have two Thrower or Blitzer models and I don´t want to get the same model twice for the same position.

Oh, and my modeling skills are bad, so converting stuff could be hard for me, never really tried it.

I love the GW 2nd edition skaven, lots of variety and character.

Have you got a link to the greebo rats? I've not seen those at all.

Comixininos have them. They didn't produce very many, I don't think. Feedback from this forum wasn't very positive, but I don't know if that was the cause of the limited run.

A friend of mine just bought these for his underworld team, and I have to say they look better in person.

I quite like the look of these, they remind me of the pre-6th edition fantasy battle skaven. Shame they're OOP, although I probably wouldn't use them myself anyway.

Wow, I never noticed the Gutter Runners' feet before! Weird that he would choose to sculpt his gutter runners as amputees...

I'm toying with the idea of an Underworld team and if I do I'll be converting the skaven from GW ghouls and stormvermin. I guess that doesn't help if you weren't looking to convert but in my own opinion the only fantasy football skaven models worth having are the 2nd edition Blood Bowl ones.

Me too.
But...I take a courrier (the #2) for doing another blitzer. The miedlfieder #2 can do the second thrower. Lineman with miedfielder #1 #3.

Notice that Miedfielder #2 isn't disponible on all the retailers.

Or do Safety and Midfielder 2 as Blitzers, Thrower and Courier 1 (get a ball in his hands, shouldn´t be hard?) as Throwers and Midfielder 1 and 3 as Linerats. Maybe put baserings on them.

I like Huge Big guy.
@ Jeremiah: it is also possible. In all the case, you need the 3 miedfielders.
