Divine Wind Ogre - first try - thoughts

Post by GalakStarscraper »

First test run of new figure for Impact!

We'll need to get one made between the two sizes but wanted to show them off as I think they are cool.

We are looking for a Big Guy that can be used as an Ogre or Troll with Divine Wind or other Nippon based teams.

Do you think you could find uses for the 36mm version if we produced it?

No comment on the size, but somethings seem off in the pose. Maybe it is just the angle/resolution of the picture? The hands look really weird as if they are too open. You would expect the fingers to be closed in more, not bent back. From the angle of the photo it looks like the model has a lean to one side with the head looking off to the left a bit. I would rather see it hunched over a bit more too.

Cannot do anything about the pose ....sorry. The hands are three fingered and not bent back.

If you want to see the figure from all angles you can look here:

Taller than a treeman? Makes him look ST8, love the model but hes more of a display piece. Maybe greenstuff a tie on him and he can be a coach.

edit=

Woops, just noticed the second one *facepalm*, I would definatly buy one at that size, Nippon slann kroxigor anyone?

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I final goal includes producing one the same height as that Treeman (who is not overly tall for the Treeman on the market). That should make him good for Nippon Ogre or Troll and also a Lizard Big Guy.

I'm just trying to decide if the smallest one would be Saurus worthy for folks to spend the money to have him made up.

Divine Wind Ogre - first try - thoughts

Post by barnacle111 »

Ooh I really like that. Something a little different from standard! Is that the finished model or will he be armored in bb style?
For scale I think halfway between the two would be good, but you could almost have a full team of the smaller ones in different poses... Counts as something..?

I have to be honest that we are starting to find that putting FF style armour on figures actually hurts their sales. If you look at our Cthulhu figure action ... we only sold 5 teams worth of FF and we had a lot of people tell us that they would have pledged for figures but the shoulder pads and armour stopped them from doing so.

Impact! sells several options for shoulder pads and armour bits so for this figure ... it will look like this. I'm not sure about multiple poses. If the little guy version sold many copies ... we could definitely do it but I'd need to see the sales first before we spent the cash to have different poses created.

So what if we made little tanks to sell with him. 1 2" version, 6 36mm versions and 8 tanks. :D

I'd be in for one of a Treeman size and a couple of the smaller ones

I'd probably even buy the oversized one if it was produced

Good work as usual Tom and the rest of the guys & Impact

Aww man I came looking expecting to see an Oni in blood bowl kit :(

That said its a nice figure but not one I'd pickup for blood bowl so yeah, leave the armour off or make a separate armour kit.

In a non-BB context, the bigger size figure would be cool :)
