as he says
FIRST saurian for Lizardmen Team
with a look very similar to PCgame

Poncho, in his facebook page, has told to comment the figure scuplt, to get feedback for the rest of the roster

note: it's a bit rare to start a team with the cheerleader figures, isn't it?

I must admit to finding the cheerleaders rather well executed and suitably funny - I like them.. :D

as for the lack of originality on the Cyanide lizards - it's a shame.. Pedro obviously has talent for miles; he's a great sculptor, but seems to be systematically going through the Cyanide portfolio of models one by one and translating them into sculpts.

I kinda frown on that sorta stuff..

That Crox looks awesome... is it a copy of the Cyanide model? (don't play that much).

The Saurus is "nice", but my first thought when I saw it was "Wow, that looks pretty much like the GW ones"...

I agree with Norse though, Ramos certainly can sculpt!

As much as they look GW, they look much better than GW's current range. I feel like GW's currently available Lizard team is far and away one of their worst looking teams, and these guys so far look wonderful.

really, buddy? i have both gw lizardman teams. the games day team is bad, but i kinda like the newer version. and the star player is pretty sweet, imho.
come to think about it, theres not much on offer as far as lizardman teams out there, is there? sarcos are very nice, but after that?

anyway, i think this krox is very nice.

Love them, I don't really care that they may he Cyanide inspired they are great sculpts and I have been tempted to play lizardmen for a long time, once these are out I won't have any excuse. Pedros a great guy with a good strong handshake I can't wait to see what he come up with for skinks.

Obviously it's all just a matter of opinion. I just feel the current GW Lizard team is super bland. The Sauri feel "small" and the sculpts are all in very similar, boring poses with helmets that often look ridiculously large. None of the models on the team have any character or personality (as opposed to something like the more classic 2nd Ed teams). The GW Krox and Slibli do look nice, though, I agree.

As far as I know there are only two other lizard teams on the market I can think of, but the GW plastic WH Lizardmen line is fantastic, so I just converted up some players I felt had appropriate gear and some dynamic, characterful sculpts (like Sauri strong-arming and the plastic Cold One/Ogre kroxigor conversion). I've seen quite a few Lizardmen teams that have made me go "WOW!," but they've all been pretty substantial GW Fantasy conversions. I think this new team, if the other sauri sculpts follow par, will be the first purchasable team that gets close (assuming this team will ultimately be for sale? Or is this just a personal project of the creator? Either way, so much talent!).

The Krox is incredible. I might prefer "skull-less" sauri... That could differentiate them a bit. Maybe just as an option. I dunno, they just look really similar to previous iterations. That's not to say it doesn't look good (it's a big improvement) but just a thought. :)

If I were to buy a lizard an team this would be it.

I'm probably buying this team when it's complete but the one I'm really waiting for him to do is a Skaven team. We already have 2 skaven positionals from him (even if they were limited edition) and I love both of them. Would love to get the rest now!

Can't say I'm getting much from these. Sculpts look a bit clunky, a little on the small side and are decidedly unoriginal. The best ready made offering for lizards currently and if they can make some good raptor-esque skinks I'll be buying those straight away, but as of now not too impressed given the sculptor's previous work.

i understand what you mean, norse. but some of us don't play bb as a xbox or computer game. i've looked at the scense on utube or my sons xbox version, and i've said "that would make a nice bb figure".
whats wrong with a talented guy putting these images in pewter or resin?
i'm a miniatures guy. i have zero interest in computer games. i quite like this krox.

I suspect it's because of issues over Intellectual Property and creativity. None of that is an issue if minis aren't sold commercially (then it's just a personal homage), but if the minis are sold then there's issues over making money (albeit it very meager) from the creative efforts of someone else. And as much as we may not have very much good will towards GW/Cyanide/etc., I think some still see it as problematic.

[Of course, it's not like GW is always some bastion of pure creativity:
Space Hulk = Aliens
Necromunda = Judge Dredd (especially the Adeptus Arbites)
Gorka Morka = Mad Maxx
etc. etc. etc.]
